My apologies, I clicked in via an email thinking this was the 992 thread. We'll take a look at the 718 shortly and see if we can come up with a similar solution!

I programmed the 2 button remote to my Homelink buttons but they only seem to work about 20% of the time… any idea why?

I think it could be caused by 2 things, first, the Homelink transmitter is up front beside the passenger headlight and radiates forward not back, second, the antenna on the CG unit is buried behind/beneath metal in the opposite location from the transmitted signal.

I plan to move the CG box to a location where I can get its antenna a clearer shot from the Homelink antenna, possibly feed it through the firewall where the sound symposer opening is and into the passenger compartment.

I had my guy (Shop Foreman) at PON (Porsche of Nashville) relocate my Cargraphics valve controller.
Mine would for the most part work but every now and then it wouldn't the 1st try and push of the button on the overhead console.
I had other work being done so Nick (Shop-Foreman) said he would take a closer look at current location and see if he felt like there was a better location ???

Below are some images Nick took as he relocated it and after he did the New Location it does work 1st Time every-time !!!

This is where Nick originally installed the Cargraphics valve-controller below.

Below is the Original 1st install LINK.

Relocating the Cargraphics "Valve-Controller" to a different location and it works PERFECT after the Relocation !!!

Simply roll the page down to see the Relocation-Images of the Cargraphics "Valve-Controller".

Terry, my CG controller is in about the same location, outside of the engine compartment and along that side, a little ahead of where you show the wire... reception is still not all that good for me. (Spyder)

The HomeLink buttons almost never work for me standing still but it does work more often while I'm moving.

Westcoast,

Of course maybe there is a difference in the Coupe VS the Spyder in the way the Cargraphics works sending the signals.

Thankfully, mine works as it should using the "Overhead" console Buttons after Nick did the Relocation.

Here’s where I mounted my receiver using double sided tape and my homelink always work.
