I'm really torn. I really like the brightness as seen in post 562 for example, but in low or indirect lighting, it looks too dark. I've only seen dirty exames in bright light in the flesh.

Which transparency level did you use in the tint?
Also, did you put on winter/all season tires? If yes, which?
Thanks!

I'm not sure what tint went on the windows. I purchased the tint/ppf option via the dealer when I got the car and they took care of it. So I'm assuming it the darkest legal in Colorado which is 27%, but its really not that dark. It really enhances the sporty look of the car however.
I put on Pirelli Sottozero winter tires. They're on my M3 as well and work wonders in the winter weather. At the first hint of snow/ice on the road, the M3 was near impossible to drive the with Michelin SuperSports, but the Sottozeros give great grip in cold weather. I was debating on these or all seasons for the GT4 and am glad I went with full on winter tires. Most of this weekend's drive was dry roads but at higher elevations I hit snow as well as icy spots in the shady parts of the canyons so the extra grip was appreciated.

Awesome picture BTW.

My wife's M5 Competition Edition is a total beast of a car & with the Sottozeros it's great. She had a sidewall bulge on one of the front tires & that was a surprise, but likely caused by a pothole on Canada's godforsaken roads!

Anyway, I'll probably drive half a dozen nice dry winter days, sub freezing, therefore not too excited about spending 2k on Sottozeros to be driven 1000 miles per winter. Do the A/S like Goodyear Excillerate hold decently on very cold but dry (no snow/ice) surfaces?
Thanks!

WC, I'm wondering about putting UHP AS tires myself. Relocated from California to Chicago now. Don't plan to drive the car in snow and ice, but the the Cup2s on <5C are almost like having plastic tricycle wheels on porcelain.

I took delivery of my Spyder on Nov. 25 here in the Chicago northern 'burbs, along with a set of winter wheels with Michelin Alpins. I've already driven 600 miles and there will be many days it'll be great to drive throughout the winter. I've done it with both my 911's and Boxsters for the last few years. I'll only do it when it's dry out, which is pretty often.
Maybe I'll see you at Road America next spring?!

I would recommend going with winter wheels and tires, to be safe. I use all-seasons on my SS Sedan and they simply aren't as good as winter tires in the winter. I wouldn't drive the Spyder (or my Turbo S) in or on the snow under any circumstances, the clearance is simply too low.

Why not just swap rubber and use one set of wheels, unless you will swap at home. Modern equipment will not harm the wheel or the tire.
