295/305 summer section width vs 305 winter section width
The non-summer tires have a narrower tread width even when going up one size from OEM and is why I chose to go with 305's for mine, below is a comparison of sizes and a couple of pictures of my Spyder with RE980AS 305's on the rear. Performance in dry conditions with the RE980AS have been very good for street driving.
As far as grip, I think it is really good. It definitely loses some if you accelerate too quickly, but traction control helps modulate that. I drove around on freeway and city streets yesterday for probably a little over an hour, and not once felt uncomfortable. We got a total of 5" and 2" melted. I even was stopped on a couple of our bigger hills here at a stoplight, and it grabbed traction right away. With the low clearance of the GT4, I think is going to be a bigger issue when ice chunks from slush buildup start to drop.
This is a really encouraging report regarding being able to use a 718 GT4 in the winter with some snow on the ground. Thanks!
Well after 9 months of waiting, she is finally home! Put 130 miles on the first day, topless of course!
130 miles 👍-awesome- caution car is addictive. But being in Southern California you are not going to get winter sports car withdrawals like those of us in North East.

oh man, I'm so torn between Chalk and Gentian Blue.... Never had a blue or a white(ish) car before. Usually, I go grey or black. But, I'm stepping out of the norm. I have a 2021 SQ7 on order in an exclusive color: Camouflage Green Metallic.
I need to decide on the color for my Spyder that I am finalizing in a few days. I'm a bit disappointed they don't offer the Adventurine Green so it's between Chalk and GB. Chalk seems very safe and sort of a sleeper. It does show the contours and lines of the car very well but I'm afraid it's pretty white looking and I don't really like white. GB seems amazing but maybe too bright and shiny in direct sunlight. The local dealer has both in the GT4 so will go take a good long look at both and decide.
oh and satin platinum wheels for sure. black is so 2010

Ouch - Hate winter but not a lot of places to avoid it where I live. Fortunately leaving soon for warmer climates but sadly car will not be coming with.
