Considering that Porsche would not restart the line with tires already available for possibly a few weeks then the first batch of cars off the line after production restart will come with what is already mounted on wheels and at the Porsche factory, so it depends when your build is scheduled.

Either way, get the car here first worry about tire brand later!

Yeah if it comes with the Dunlops, they'll be my break-in tires for the remainder of this season, whenever the car arrives. I've emailed my SA but have yet to hear back if my schedule has changed at all. Will post up what I know when I hear back.

There is nothing wrong with Dunlops, not sure why you're making that statement. Search in 991 gt3 forum and you'll find that the latest Dunlap's are as good or better than mpsc.

I will be going with what Andreas Preuninger said to Henry at Goodwood with respect to the two tire choices, already queued up for you viewing enjoyment!

True I am reading in the GT3 section much success with the new Dunlop's. I had previous gen on my GT4, they were good but preferred Michelin. Switched out to Michelin's when I had an issue with one of the Dunlop's.

True, the MAXX tires were pulling faster on the track for some folks, to the point that GT3 folks on Cups were looking forward to trying MAXX afterwards. However, I bet the Michelins are smoother and less harsh on normal roads. Michelin is just a magician when it comes to tire overall usability.

Exactly which model Dunlop might they be using? When I look on Tirerack, there are no fitments in 245/35/20 for the Dunlop Maxx Race or Race 2 tires.

So? Did we have feet on the ground in Germany, what's the word, did Porsche resume production of GT4's or Spyders?

I don't think they did, perhaps next week.

FWIW my SA just told me that production of GT4 will only resume on May 4th and various timelines will be updated during the week of May 4-8.

He actually did not specify GT4s but I assumed as much because I have a GT4 on order. Not sure whether the situation is the same for the Spyders but likely to be the same...

I just called Porsche USA, gave them my commission number and they gave me the latest delivery info on my Spyder.

Originally scheduled for dealer delivery on May 29. Then delayed to June 19. Now to July 17.

I still think that until the factory is open then building and shipping cars all of these dates are at best a guess and could move either way...
