Production Shut Down!

Thank you so much for the info. Just called and my production date is now 7/14 (was 5/1 originally), and delivery date is 9/4 (was 7/3 originally). That's about two months later than originally expected. Maybe after things get up and running next week I'll call back and see if anything has been moved up.
Do you know it would be 2020 or 2021 model year if the production/delivery date are so late into the year?

I'll have to bug my SA again who is on furlough. Customers really should be able to log in and gather build and delivery info themselves.

Looks like VW has begun restarting it's plants in Germany today starting with Wolfsburg on top of the plants that were restarted last week. No word on Osnabruck, Zuffenhausen or Leipzig, but it sounds like the restart process will be somewhere between 10-20% for the first week, ramping to 40-50% in the second week and then whatever capacity they want to operate at in the 3rd and 4th weeks.

I'm really hoping my GT4 will come with the Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires, but it sounds like the company is getting a lot of heat from the workers union on producing tires for luxury manufacturers. Read into it what you will, but that at least indicates production must be starting up sooner rather than later.
The company justifies its early restart by pointing to the trucks, farm machinery, ambulances, fire engines and other essential vehicles still operating despite national quarantines. Michelin is reopening its European plants that produce tires for these vehicles, which make up about half its business.
But the company has also resumed the production of molds used to make tires for high-end cars manufactured by the likes of Porsche and Tesla. Michelin is eager to restore passenger car tire production generally, Mr. Menegaux said, and is betting on a surge in people driving, partly to avoid crowded public transportation, when confinement orders are lifted.
Unions in France, however, challenged the company’s motives as it began to reactivate employees on a voluntary basis from paid furloughs. The plan calls for the work force to return in gradual increments over several months.
“Making tires for luxury cars like Porsches is not essential,” said Jérôme Lorton, the spokesman for the Union Syndicale Solidaires, one of France’s biggest industrial unions. “Protecting workers by keeping them at home during a quarantine is.”
