- the drone with oem exhaust from 2-2.5k is almost gone from noticiable - hardly noticeable

my other take as i did this already it made the car quiter (near same when it had quite mode) but the positive it made the crappy bose system to be from bad - normal/acceptable
also done a must have mod relocating the annoyed passengers leg fire extinguisher and man it made a worthy change.

Relocated the fire extinguisher with just strong velcro it its a 100% perfect
How much weight are you adding with the hushmat?

Assuming the 718 Spyder and the 981 Spyder are similar, this video shows that there is a thick piece of foam rubber on top of the metal engine cover. So did you add a HushMat to the underside of the metal cover?

I checked my car. I have the same foam rubber mat, but it's interesting that the part is not show here:

it was about 3.5 sheets of Hushamat.
weight of the sheet after peeling it is easily less than 400 grams but i was using my hand vs my iphone on the other hand so i even think maybe - 300g a sheet. Its well worth it if you drive it in the street for sure

Yes, please do. Did you stick the hushmat to the underside of the metal engine cover?

Thanks! Interesting. Do you know if the GT4 has the thick rubber padding on top of the metal plate like the Spyder does? Perhaps that’s only stock on the Spyder. I’d be concerned that adding another 1/4 - 1/2” would make it more difficult to Close the roof on the Spyder. It already seems pretty tight.

Actually, I see that Dynamat is only 1/8” thick. That should surely fit. But I’m still really curious if the GT4 comes stock with the thick rubber mat that the Spyder has. It seems like that by itself should be quite effective at muffling.

Just a note... I got the dreaded BLACK FLAG at the track last week. Stock 718 2020 Spyder with the traps open....92.4 db's. Too loud! Max permitted is 92db.
It passes with the traps closed. Most of the tracks are enforcing the noise limits.

Thank you alwaysdriving. They make other products with foam on them as well, but this is the aluminum with the viscoelastic layer to dampen the metal. Much like dynamat or similar products. Putting some of this under the trunk floor may also help with noise and chasis vibrations thus lowering drone.

I now have 510 miles on my car! I’m driving with no place to go just because I love driving it. I’m amazed at how much better the sound is now with only 500 miles. I was really worried when I first drove it because it drowned and whined like crazy, but the drone is 90% gone now. I can’t believe the difference. Can’t wait to fully break it in.

Don't stop!

I am just over 1500 miles, never really noticed any drone, but did notice that the sound has changed since the very early days, much deeper now.

Sounds great! So, that's the X-pipe racing exhaust, right? I've been considering that setup. Are you using the oem valve control, or an aftermarket valve controller? Also, how bad is the drone, considering you have the delete pipes as well? Only in taller gears when cruising?
Would you call it a very loud system? Thanks, and enjoy.
