I am very much interested in the catted/silenced version for some neighbor friendly, regular driving...but improvements in power and mid range (from what others say about the stock system). If the sound is reasonable I'm open to no valving...but if I have to tame it here and there then it will have to be valved. I love the look of this and combo of race manifolds.

Anyone using Cargraphic 200 cell headers? If yes, with which rear muffler?
I have the JCR non silenced race exhaust, which I love, but I’d like a bit more sound and torque under 4000rpms. I feel the 200cell headers might the best for power and a subtle increase in sound without extra drone or CEL (I am in Europe and have the monitored OPF).

Sound update from first track day friday at Mt Tremblant.

I'm running Soul OAP and JCR silenced/valved exhaust. During first session I got blackflaged for excessive dB (94.1 - limit at 92dB). It was a cold and overcast day so it might explain the sound being amplified. In the morning they give you a second chance so I got out again and shortshifted at 6k (lot less fun!!) but at least was able to get some laps under my belt and get used to car.

I just ordered the JCR silenced tip so I can enjoy the full range of RPM next time arround!!

So for those wondering about dB/sound with the different setups, mine is plenty loud!!

Any idea how far away the sound meter is from the car? I have Akra/JCR silenced so we are about the same, I have a track day next Saturday...

They move arrond the track a lot at Tremblant but when I got flagged the mike was about 50ft from track I'd say... I guess low ceiling combined with higher pitched sound of the JCR exhaust caused my flagging, as the stock GT3 RS's and ather loud cars where OK.

Interesting, I guess I'll see next weekend, I don't know where they measure on the track I am going to but I do know they have limits... thanks!

Update, with the Akra OAP and JCR Silenced Race Pipe the track staff recorded 92 dB/A max during my sessions.

I don't know how far away they were but do know they go to a number of positions on the track and made it a point of mentioning this during our track briefing in the morning.

Can you report on how the sound is with the top up? I know you Spyder folks are a bit different than us hard top brothers. Im still leaning towards manifolds and oaps with the stock pse for now (famous last words &#128514

I think that it sounds great, albeit a little muted with the top up, but the mostly uninsulated top doesn't cut much in the way of volume. The differences are when you are at lower RPMs and loading in gear, you hear a little drone around 1800-2800 RPM but unless you are cruising there or rolling on the throttle in that range it isn't really a problem, sure I notice it but mostly because I know it is there. Blasting through the gears (top up) is about 80% of top down where you can really hear the engine wail. This video from JCR tells the story from the outside, and it is what mine sounds like...

3 Laps at Road America.
Akrapovic OAP/GPF.
OEM Muffler
Enjoy.

Bit of clipping from the wind at times, but you'll get the idea. Testing an exterior solution for the next track day.

Nice job and great sounds and great road course! Hard to tell, but was your instructor in the car with you, or was he coaching remotely?
