Just imagine what an electric Cayman with the full treatment (active aero, suspension, AWD) is going to be like.

That will likely change as EVs become more prevalent.

Like taking an Ambien?

At least you'll only get a couple laps before you need to take 30 minute break to recharge and take a siesta.

I predict they'll sell dozens.

It's going to be interesting to see what the electric cayman does with a full track day, with 20 to 30 minutes sessions, five sessions. Will it last 20 to 30 minutes? Will many tracks have chargers available? If they charge $10 a gallon for gas what will they charge for electricity?

How will they get all the electricity to charge dozens of cars all at the same time. The cost alone of the heavy gauge copper to carry the amperage will be prohibitively expensive even if the local service can handle it out in the boonies, which is where tracks tend to be located.

The new Pirelli RS is a faster tire than the Cup 2 R. Should be good for 1-2 seconds.

That seems unlikely on such a short lap. The Cup2 R is pretty fast for first session (then falls off rapidly). I think the Pirellis are supposed to be more stable for longer (but very surprised if they're that much faster than brand new Cup2 R).

It's already been tested on a 3RS to be the fastest tire available right now. Maybe not 2 seconds on this shorter track but definitely superior to the Cup 2 R.

No one should lose sleep over a tire argument here. Nor should anyone be surprised that an electric vehicle can be faster than a GT4 RS, over a relatively short distance. I guarantee there's multiple electric vehicles that could beat a GT4 RS on the track for a lap.

Just not very relevant considering no one does just one lap at a time.
