Well….I had a 4RS for a year and traded a Ferrari and 993 C2S to consolidate per the wife. I traded into a 992 PDK GT3 touring. The financials worked very well to me with taxes and overall trade value and such.
992: felt a little too big, stiff, and actually the 18 ways didn’t feel very comfortable IMO. To not even have the bucket seats I was wondering why the leather seats were so stiff and just awkward in size. My old 991 GT3 seemed to be comfortable and I always liked the cozier “tunnel” interior that the 4RS and my DD Macan S has.
991: a friend told me about a 991 GT3 T 6 speed at a dealer I have bought exotics from so I made the trade. Again the financials worked pretty well. At first, it was amazing to be shifting again but I was underwhelmed with the stock sound. Did not have the individual ITB and unique sound that the 992 has in the cabin. It just felt loud. Pushing the 991 on switch backs I could see it come alive and it was quite nice. No lift shift is incredible…but still I felt it was not enough race car and almost like a GTS model. For some, it’s the bees knees. And I do get why. To keep that car I felt it needed a side muffler delete and it would sound fantastic like my old 991.1 GT3 did.
4RS: Enter the opportunity to get another new 4RS. It has all the fizz and drama and cozy interior and feels amped up all the time. No sound is like the interior of the 4RS. After 3000 miles and 5-6 track days, I did think the car could be too loud for long trips and the music could barely be heard at highway speeds. But, after having two tourings I realize that is not the purpose of the car. It’s meant for the weekend drives or track days and that’s how I will use it. It was not the best financially as I could not use my LLC and lost a tax credit in the process but who cares. This car is a keeper! My first 4RS came new with Cup 2S and this has Dunlops. I am curious to see if I can feel the difference.
Do NOT hesitate to buy one! It’ll ruin every other car lol!

So glad you guys love the 4RS.
I told you all 6 years ago this is THE car to get from Porsche. Over ANY Porsche.
The 4RS is the best all around GT car from Porsche.

Just over 22k miles. But I haven't really touch it since basically last Nov. My 3RS arrived after Christmas and the Dakar came back from European Delivery in May. And I have been going back to the 4RS a lot.
Also just bought a Ioniq 5N and been having loads of fun in that. That simulated gearbox is just so cool and fun to play with.

A few weeks ago I got the call, locked my build, and am looking forward to seeing it in Sept.
Your endorsement means a lot.
Enjoy your ride!

@Whoopsy...Thanks so much for this endorsement. My first deposit on would-be GT4 RS was in November 2015, long before it may have been a twinkle in AP's eyes.

is it really though?? Not meant to be argumentative but I hear a lot of people say its a phenomenal track and “weekend” car - wouldn’t the GT3 still trump it as an ‘all around’ better car, able to comfortably still go around town when needed etc

It's 100% subjective. But I would say his pedigree and Porsche comparisons are second to no one.
