Yeah, good luck moving that car north of $300k with sofa seats or does the seller that it's a super rare car because of the sofas?

I think the oil level warning comes on well before anything will happen. In fact the warning says something along the lines of "oil level low, check oil level, still fine to drive" And man- the warning keeps beeping at you so that it is really annoying so forces you to top it up. Even tells you how much oil is required.

You must be one of those, lets wait until we run out of food before we go to the store!

What if you are on a road trip, forgot to bring oil, its late and the car is now telling you that it needs oil, me I prefer not to be in that situation... a few clicks on the stalk and you have 'situational awareness', IMHO much better then 'oh crap' awareness!

I was a little above halfway on the oil gauge, so given the difference between min and max on the gauge is 0.8L, I'd estimate I'm down about 0.3L in the first 600 miles of break-in. Seems to be quite a variation in oil consumption when breaking in motors; another owner reported using 1 liter in 600 km (about 372 miles).

The difference between Min and Max is 1 liter. If you look closely there are 5 segments to the gauge, so 200ml increments.

"The difference between the minimum and maximum mark is approx. 0.85 quarts (0.8 liter)."

For use on track it also recommends filling only to the first bar down so 0.2L less than full. MIne has 2300kms and needed 0.4L for track use (so used 0.6L in total)

Well that is the wonderful thing about online forums- we can find out information from other people's experiences.
When I drove the 4RS off the lot the SA said don't worry about the oil consumption, the car will tell you when it needs a top up which is very common during break-in and varies randomly amongst all engines.

I got the low oil warning while driving today at 672 miles. After reading this thread last night I drove to the auto parts store this morning and picked up 2 quarts. Later in the day about 35 min into driving the 4RS the light came on and said to top off with 0.8 quart. Was really glad I had it in the car with me, allowed me to continue cruising instead of going home to the garage. was going to check the level in the morning but you have to have the car at operating temp and didn't plan on driving it til later in the day. My buddy is getting a 4RS in a week so I think I'll gift him the other quart bc I imagine he might have a similar experience under 1000 miles.

FYI - I’d recommend always begin by adding less than what the warning states to add. It’s very easy to overfill (and easy to add a bit more if you need it after driving and checking again)…

I would recommend keeping the second bottle. Seems the car can keep drinking oil for a bit longer yet.......

Obviously a slight difference between the regular 718 4.0l and the GT3 originating 4.0l Good to know!

Thats exactly what I did. A lot easier to add a little more than to take a little out.
