Probably that dealers will only get 1-3 for 2022 MY, not 1-3 for the whole run. Also, IIRC, VIP allocations don't count against the regular allocations of a dealership. So if a dealer was gonna get 2, but has 2 VIP's who want one, they would get 4 cars. But VIP allocations come out of the national number, so if there were only 400 cars coming for 2022, and VIP's take up 300 of them, there'd only be 100 available allocations to split among the dealerships.

Someone may know better but that was my understanding of it.

That's just insane! when pushing $300k, we're talking about a completely different echelon of cars with far higher capabilities than the 4RS

I told my dealer I'm happy to wait until next year to get the car. Besides, I want tuners to come up with mods for the car by the time I have the car.
Wow! I was just making a speculating comment. It's not life changing event for me and I am not in worried or crying about it at all. I have a 991.2 3 RS that I bought/configured new and have over 21,500 miles. Best car I've ever owned. Would be happy if that was my last GT car ever. However, we enthusiasts are always looking...

My post wasn't directed at you, just in general with all the panicking. Props to enjoying your RS, I put over 8k miles on mine before I sold it.

Default What you gain by being fat and/or really heavy

The funniest is listening to fat guys talk about the 25 lbs they saved by spending $15k on bling blang.
But fat guys add cornering ballast when going around corners when they're sitting on the side that wants to rise. Though it's a bit different going the other direction, maybe more downforce for traction with PTV. I'll have to go back and look at pictures of Jenks when he was racing in motorcycle side-cars. All the pics I remember showed him hanging way out of the side-car. Did he have to climb into the lap of the rider turning the other way? Those pics would not have looked anywhere near as cool. Somebody on here must know all the answers to these rather stupid questions. Obviously, I don't!

3RS is truly phenomenal. Put 3k miles on mine in the last 5 weeks or so. But, like you said, enthusiasts are always looking...

This is true, and one would think this would mean that only the truly price-insensitve (and impatient) customer would pay a markup that high. The question then becomes, how many of that type of customer are interested in this car? And for how long? A whale might be willing to pay $100k over to be first on the block, but are they gonna write that same check a year later?

One thing seems certain, Porsche has succeeded in attracting high wealth individuals to these cars. Before I don't think as many were interested in GT cars, but now the level of hype is so high that they want in, and they're willing to pay. Sucks for the less wealthy enthusiast in many ways, but it's also a part of the reason resale values are so high.

What makes it sad if idiots pay those ADMs even whales....it basically means the cars will likely not be driven to anything more than cars and coffee.

I prefer to get angry about events in my control. F1/ RS4 allocation outside my sphere of influence.

Maybe that's what they'll do with these cars for a year or two until they get bored with them and trade them in. Some of those folks can afford to pay wayyy over, then take a bath on trade-in, so all they're doing is gently breaking the car in for the second buyer. Brokers and flippers are a different story, but then those folks aren't buying these cars at $100k over.

People will pay the 100k+ ADM. There’s a 992 GT3 being rented on Turo here in Los Angeles for 1k per day with a 100 mile limit. It’s probably booked half the days per month if not more.
