I hear ya, but none of those x pipe aftermarkets for the gt4/spyder seem to generate that sound, either; not entirely. Maybe I’m wrong.

Also the direction in which the engine is turned makes a difference,

Don't believe it'll have a detuned GT3 engine. Cost!

On another forum Whoopsy claims it won't be.

Reading whoopsys most recent post, it will not be a gt3 engine but an upgraded gt4 engine. I think we can put the gt3 engine rumor to sleep. Thank you Chris, whoopsy and others for your Intel

To me that is the magic HP number... and no I don't car if it is a GT3 engine.

I think I have been reasonably consistent in saying it's going to be "around" 500hp....it's not going to be exactly 500, but it should be close enough.

Chris can we assume no MT option? I know that's not the RS formula, just curious if we get a curve ball.

If the gt4 rs has no MT, does that guarantee the spyder rs won’t? There is an additional year for them to work something out, right? Just wondering how conclusive the gt4 rs reveal will be with respect to what the spyder might offer.

I’d pay close to gt3 money for a 500hp, 9k, MT spyder. Not that I have a hope in hell of having the chance, but if I did… Despite being the first at 3 or 4 dealerships to bring it up, I’m sure the big dogs would bump me plenty far down.

The current manual gearbox is limited at 309 lb-ft. I highly doubt they are engineering a new gearbox for the GT4RS. PDK only--just like every 991 RS was. Of course, I also think close to 500 hp is absurd given the history of differentials between GT3s and GT3RSs.

Swan song, baby. Go out big. Or that’s the hope.

There is a little thing called WLTP and now the next level of emission requirements for the EU. Seeing as most OEMs dropped manuals across many models due to the cost of certification I don't believe Porsche will be doing any one offs for an end of life product. It would be too cost prohibitive I'm afraid.

AFAIK, PDK only for both GT4 and Spyder.
