that looked extremely legit! The registered plates seemed a touch odd, especially in super restrictive CA, which would lean to the potential that it’s already passed US emissions and maybe announcing in November like someone posted above? We can only hope

Doesn't look like it will have dive planes in the front. The swan neck brackets in the rear look better on the 992 GT3, the ones on this car looks a little odd. Probably not too hard to get used to though.

The only way this thing is a buy in my book is if it gets the GT3 engine or some other mechanical/engine upgrade that you cant modify into. Otherwise the regular GT4 is soooo good with a few tweaks...

Agreed 100%....if the mechanical upgrades are minimal (don't care about the aero upgrades) and you can do them to the GT4 I would pass on the RS and hold for the 992 GT3 or GT3RS.
This based in that I have a PDK GT4...if I was in the market then the 4RS would be the ticket as long as pricing is well below 992 GT3.

Does that mean 'only Cayman variant' to be produced in 2023? Just curious if this means the 718 will continue on for 2023.

Spyder rs dream:
-weight savings from carbon fiber composite frunk and engine covers, fenders and roof delete, mag wheels
-fender flares for wider rears
-4.0 from gt3, 6mt
- windshield delete option / 1 or 2 seat option (like the monza)

Unrealistic I know... What's the latest speculation on what's actually coming?

Spyder RS speculation? Too far out to have any clue. The gt4rs reveal should tell most of the story, at least wrt the conventional aspects. Whether they’ll go nuts and do a monza style or some kind of improved rollover protection is a very long shot. IMO, it all hinges on whether this is the last NA ICE engine incarnation (in cayman/boxster) and whether that means “statement car” or not.

Best guess it gets all the easily transferable gt4rs tech, at a minimum. I think there is almost no chance it gets the gt3 motor, in any form.

What is the 2nd row of dates mean? "CW 07/22 (Feb)". Is that production date?

I second this. Unless they get into suspension geometry changes or a true motorsports motor change, then it would be a hard pass for me too.

It is pretty obvious from the sounds clips of it testing on the Ring that is does NOT have a GT3 derived motor and there is no way they are changing the suspension, maybe a damping change to factor for the increased aero, but no major changes.

To top it all all, they are going to charge a premium for it because it is an RS model. It will not be a value proposition whatsoever.

That seems like an awfully short production run, doesn't it?

It does - maybe that timeframe refers to some other period?
