in my own defense ... here is one of my better posts/threads on installing an AWESwitchPath exhaust on a 991 GTS: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9295...stall-gts.html

Somewhat surprised the thread is not on fire with PTS and PDK talk. Anybody having allocation remorse? Anyone lucky enough to have a PTS allocation? My build locked two weeks ago, so no luck over here.

well I am trying to decide if I want PDK or not - as for PTS, I did this on my GT3 but at $12k (even for a Spyder) I think its too much - not too mention the elusive nature of the PTS windows ...

Also fyi the horse comes after the cart, you get an allocation then you request PTS, and wait to see if the gods are with you ... a lot depends upon *when* your build date is relative to the (secret) PTS "windows" (when the factory schedules PTS production) and how flexible moving your allocation into the window is... or not

Because at over 12k PTS not really worth it. PDK is basically the same transmission as the base 718... and has been confirmed since debut... so old news... plus deliveries aren’t slated until 2021.... but I’m sure more excitement will happen once reviews start to happen.

+1, that's about 10% the value of the car ... if it were around $5k I might opt for it ... ok I would... I wish they had better "special" colors ... chalk, MB and PG aren't doing it for me

I had heard that PTS was likely to come later this year, this was in Jan. Was happy to not wait because it was uncertain and I was to get my car beginning of June. Now slightly disappointed to hear it is available and I won't have my car until August.

But I think I'd rather have PTS on a coupe.

As for PDK, nah...manual is the way to go on the Spyder and even GT4 if more street focused than track.

not too mention that "available" does not mean you can or will get it ...

Couldn't agree more with you guys. A little too spendy for PTS and colors are somewhat dull for a GT car. I may get mine wrapped once it gets stateside. Also for me, manual was the only way to go, even though I love my Cayman GTS PDK on track. It's a monster, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm as fast or faster around most tracks in it vs the GT4 when it arrives.

PDK is for sure available on GT4 now, at a $3k+ up charge. New configurator is up, too. Python Green is a new (to my knowledge) color, priced at another $3k+ up charge. I couldn't get the configurator to show the car in PG but it's there.

I hear a few other things are now standard, including two-zone climate.

Also, Alcantara no longer available, as Porsche has replaced it with "Race-Tex."

Thought about it for about 3 minutes (ordering another spyder next year). I want a manual anyway, and no way I would pay $12-13k for a special paint color. I love the Gentian blue and very happy with that color for $800.

Porsche Centre North Toronto called me early during the pandemic to ask if I'd be interested in a Fall allocation. However I'm not sure if they actually had an allocation in hand or were just fishing for interest. Regardless if you're interested DM me and I'll pass along the salespersons name.
