Dealer Allocation Tracker
#1306
I'm late to the MSRP allocation hunt and just missed one here by a few days . Is this the best spot to lurk for potential open spots or is there another thread(or dare I say forum) I should be scouting?
Congrats to those who have theirs secured and good luck to those still hunting.

Several available on AutoTrader at MSRP. Why would anyone pay an ADM...Blacklist stealer-ships like that.

Oh I agree. A little back and fourth and it sounded like they would play ball at 10K. I gave my Porsche code to the SA said "at MSRP" and left it at that. I think that allocation locks sometime late Aug. I'm sure they'll wait for an ADM buyer up until a week out from lock.

sadly all of them appear to be safe "dealer spec" white or silver, loaded with leather and other pointless/stupid sh*t like "voice control" - it makes me SO MAD that dealers make it hard for porsche-a-philes to order the cars we want - and result in a solid predictable sale rather than speculating on a safe build and waiting for a sucker to roll up!!

While I agree with your statement, I just noticed...You joined Rennlist in 2002. That was 18 years ago: 18 (365) = 6,570 days. Your post count is 17,359. That's an average of almost 3 post/day for 18 years! Just saying... Maybe if you took a vacation you'd be less grumpy!

When I picked up my (2010) 997.2 GT3 from Porsche Monterey they had specc'ed some $8k or so in "froufrou" crap - like leather seat backs - in a GT3, seriously? - and "leather covered main air vent and light console" the list goes on - at least they painted it Mexico Blue!
but the car sat on their lot for 5-6 months before I came by - and then they had the cheek to say "no sale" when I told them I was not going to pay MSRP for that crap - next day the finance mgr came to his senses and called me back ... the rest is history!
I just don't get dealers/SAs ... build a relationship with enthusiasts, sell your allocations to people who in all likelihood will come back again for another car - and stop over-speccing these cars, especially the GT models, speculatively awaiting someone to walk onto the lot looking for their 1st Porsche but who want all the (pointless) bells and whistles ...
I mean does "voice control" really work in a Spyder top down as you brake into the Andretti hairpin ... and do you even want it?
mark my words, once PDK becomes available on the GT4, Spyder and 4.0L GTS ... you wont find a manual sitting on anyone's lot - unless its a customer order that someone walked away from...
