Production Ended
HI All, I was disappointed to hear from my dealer today that 718 Spyder production has ended. (luckily I bought a used Spyder a year ago anticipating that my new one wouldn't be built). Sad news for those still waiting.

wow... I wonder how this will affect Spyder prices moving forward.

Production hasn't ended (yet), but the end is apparently in sight; folks on here have reported allocations with builds out to June. @frankchn gave what seems to be the consensus explanation of the current status:
My dealer claims they're still waiting for one more Spyder allocation to show up in the system. We'll see if I'm lucky enough that they're correct...
I think it is either on this thread or one of the GT3 allocation threads, where some folks mentioned that the dealer principals had meetings with their PCNA reps back in November, and they each received news about how many GT cars they will get for the remainder of MY23. The allocations might not show up in the system immediately, but they should know how many cars they will receive now.

FWIW - I walked into Porsche Palm Springs two years ago and was told emphatically by their "GT Car Specialist" that "GT4 production is over because Porsche is focusing on the 992 GT3". Two years later, we're still going strong.
I've been reading posts recounting very similar stories for years (people being told by seemingly trustworthy and knowledgeable people that production for XYZ Porsche has ended). Eventually, production WILL end....but I'll believe it when I see it.

it is completely possible that they would and not much I can do about it, but let me tell you something, nothing is stopping any dealer from altering a deal even if you agreed to purchase a car for 20k ADM (if by the time it actually arrived, the dealer can get 40k, for example)

I was really happy with them. I made the mistake of turning down my slot when I was told no bucket seats. After reading some of the concerns with GT4 production possibly ending I went in today and spoke with them. My slot had been filled by the next person in line. They then swapped with Tysons Porsche and got me a slot from them. My car is set to arrive end of March. They never once haggled over price. MSRP on the cars is their policy. For anyone who is paying $20k over it’s worth seeing what they can do for you. I live ten min from the dealer, but I’d absolutely take delivery of a car anywhere on the east coast to save $10k plus on dealer markup

Delivery wise… don’t go stringing up your current shoes on your towns electrical wires “too soon” bc taking delivery in March with an order that hasn’t even hit its freeze point yet would be another Christmas miracle. I’d say the realistic timeline would be 12-16 weeks from your freeze date. This seems to be the going trend from those with build dates beginning from late Nov. through Dec. production timelines. My freeze was 11/28, ETA 2/10 via TYD, but I still haven’t been assigned a vessel through TYD (current status “in transit to port of Emden”)… Im assuming my car will be at the dealer at best late February early March, and that’s if everything goes smoothly.

Glad to hear you snagged up a GT4 allocation, even though it wasn’t your preferred build. Hopefully you can make the changes down the road that make the car more suitable to your needs/liking. Make sure you have a commission # and V200 Status when you put down your deposit. .

Quick question: were you provided a vessel name through TYD, or did you call your SA for updates? My TYD is all over the place, and seems to be at least 1-2 weeks delayed when updating- heck my current “phase” still shows 1 out of 4, and TYD says Im pretty much at Emden Lol.
