In terms of the ever-expanding value scale, the Porsche 930 continues to push the envelope. This legendary model is one many of us grew up idolizing, allowing its poster to grace prime real estate on our bedroom walls. And while the news of yet another turbo Porsche 930 selling at auction for big bucks is nothing groundbreaking, this particular model certainly is. Because it’s one of only 130 U.K. turbo coupes built for the 1989 model year. And it may very well be the finest of that limited bunch.
The incredibly-rare 930 recently hammered at the Silverstone Classic Sale for a healthy price of just over $204,000, and we wager it’s worth every penny. Not just given the rareness of its right-hand drive configuration, but also its history and condition. The 911 has only traveled 29,000 miles in its years on this planet, and has enjoyed the same owner for the last 23 years. It also has the benefit of being a holy grail G50 car, equipped with everyone’s favorite 5-speed transmission.
The car also comes with an extensive maintenance history, a letter from Porsche stating its significance, and various other paperwork. There are plenty of desirable upgrades as well, including electric Sport seats, limited-slip differential, and the Blaupunkt ‘Toronto’ stereo. And though it’s enjoyed multiple owners, the current one has been careful to keep it stored in a climate-controlled garage.
The results of that pampered life are on full display here. This Linen Grey Porsche 930 is easily one of the finer examples in existence. And one of the more desirable iterations, to boot.
