adding oil too quickly...?
i just added 1/2 liter through the extendable neck under the oil cap...seems it went straight to the heat exchanger and undertray...unfortunately, too late i have heard that oil must be added extremely slowly or one runs the risk of spillage....or do i just have a bd connection somewhere downstream but before the tank.......and i did pour that 1/2 liter in vigorously... thoughts?

Hi KKS,
The extendable neck tends to leak or even break down.
Pull it out and throw it away. Then use a long neck funnel in the future to fill the oil.
Buy some spray electronic cleaner and hose off the engine compartment below the filler neck. Then go under the car and hose off the sheet metal below and the lower valve cover. May take two or three cans to get it all.
Check the dipstick with the engine running and fully warm, say after a 20 min. drive.
It should be filled to the lower 1/4 of the dipstick fill range. Here is a document that includes a section on properly filling the oil:
