1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI

Silverstone’s next big sale features 15 rare and interesting Porsche vehicles crossing the block February 23.

For fans of both classic and competition vehicles, Silverstone Auctions’ Race Retro sale, taking place at the U.K’s Stoneleigh Park February 23, presents a truly can’t-miss opportunity. A grand total of 80 top notch cars sporting a combined value of $5 million are set to cross the block. That lineup, of course, includes a slew of rare and interesting Porsche vehicles.

Our favorite of the carefully curated bunch might just be this gorgeous 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7 MFI. Long considered the “poor man’s RS,” the MFI has quickly become a very desirable car in its own right. We’ve seen them go in the $200k-$300k range recently, which makes this one’s catalog estimate of $162k-$208k seem pretty reasonable. This particular car is also quite rare. One of just 34 right-hand drive models, it’s also one of only two painted silver.

Right behind that lovely car in terms of rarity is this 1-of-53 RHD 1988 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Club Sport. One of just 340 total Club Sports built in ’88, this lightweight racer comes with an extensive history and certificate of authenticity. But if you’re more concerned with ultimate value, no Porsche at Race Retro tops this restored 1958 Porsche 356 A Speedster. With a catalog estimate of $364k-$417k, this beautiful car promises to be one to watch.

And these are just three of the 15-strong Porsche lineup crossing the block at Race Retro. If you can’t catch a flight to England in the next couple of days, fear not. There are of course several ways to bid, including online and by phone. Head over here to get all the details, view all the lots, and get registered if you see a Porsche you just can’t resist bidding on!
