i'm just surprised you still drive it while it's for sale! but good for you.
Thanks! I take it out at least twice a week weather permitting. It's pointless to let it sit. If it sells it sells, otherwise the car should work for me and not the other way around

This weekend I did an oil change & switched too Mobil 1 5W-50 from Mobil 1 0W-40, Napa has them on sale for $9.29 a quart usually $16.50 a quart there. I also pulled my front bumper off to clean out the debris for the first time, it was amazing as past threads have mentioned how much crap gets trapped in-between the radiators and the A/C condensers. I found a total of 5 cigarette butt's and a cotton ball with ton's of leaves if you haven't done this it's a must do maintenance. I just used an old tooth brush, compressed air and shop vacuum to clean them up and now the radiators look great it was very easy to do if you take your time.

Replaced the center brake light in the spoiler. The old one just disintegrated despite the fact that the car has lived indoors its whole life.

Oil change tomorrow

602996tt is that a lift or does it just give you a little more hight to work underneath the car?

It's called a quick-lift and you use a regular floor jack to raise it and the legs drop down and allows you 24 inches of height to work on the car in the picture it's laying down completely so you can park on it.

I like it because it safe there's less moving parts and if I have to put the whole car up in the air it has Center braces to put jack-stands so you could get another 8 inches on top of the 24 inches or depending on how high you use the jack-stands. One thing that's nice about it is I don't have to put the whole thing up, I can just drive on top of it when it's completely flat and still go underneath and service my car for an oil change. My girlfriend actually keeps her car on it nightly. It is a bit cumbersome but works for me.

^ have you noticed the oils change favorably? i switched to castrol edge in a 50/50 mix 5/40 X 5/50 and absolutely love it. it purrs. it's very hard to find 5/50 M1 here and that's the only M1 i would mess with from here on out. i'm over 120k miles !

add: now you understand why my rads are screened in! it's not JUST my sangin" lol

I went with Castrol Edge 5-50 last oil change and again just today. I had been running M1 5-40 TDT, but haven't been able to find it or M15-50 recently.

The car loves the 5-50 Castrol. It is much quieter and seems to run smoother even after 4000 miles.

When I drained the oil today, I was surprised at how clean it was. It was a medium Amber as opposed to the usual blackish brown. I've never had used oil come out that clean before.

i completely agree, based upon "feel" and elimination of some sounds at pre pressurized startup. i'll be sticking with my newfound "edge" "mix" of the 5/40 x 5/50. i'm about due to change it again, so i'm curious to see it also.

FWIW,oil coming out dark in color is not a bad sign. That means the detergents are doing their job cleaning your engine. This is a common misconception where people think oil coming out clean is actually a good sign.

Well maybe I just have a clean engine. . I've had this car for four years and it has never run better than since I put the Castrol 5-50 in it.

The first two years, I ran M1 0-40. No issues, but it was a bit noisy at idle. After my UMW tune, I ran M1 5-40 TDT at Kevin's recommendation. Again no issues and the car was quieter. 6 mos ago, I needed an oil change and all I could get ( live in a small town) was Castrol Edge 5-50. I was just going to leave it in until I could get some M1.

Car ran smoother and quieter than it ever has. I just decided to go with it. I don't run the car hard for extended periods and change the oil religiously every 4k miles.

Maybe I'll regret it one day, but the car is really happy on the Castrol.
