I took the photo yesterday at the Exklusive-Room at Zuffenhausen during the configuration of my friends RS.

We went for Mexicoblue, after we placed all colors in front of a 1:1 RS - we didn´t like Miamiblue.

Lots of Lava and UV on the parking lot - just ONE black and very few GT-Silver.

GT-Silver looks great with all the black parts of the RS.

Thanks again for posting that on Rennteam!

Take a look at my comments below and let me know what you remember about the color sample that you reported as 'Maritime' and some of us think it's too saturated purple & looks more like 'Ultraviolet'.

Saludos,
Eduardo

The Wailing Wall shot.

Looks to me like top left 'Voodoo Blue'; top right 'Ultraviolet'.
Bottom left 'Riviera Blue'; bottom right 'Mexico Blue'.
Center : the New 'Miami Blue' vice color!

But 'Blue Flame' claims the top right is 'Maritime'. Interesting.

For the record, here is a photo of factory 'Maritime Blue' against a 'Mexico Blue' gt3 in Calgary, Canada

I am not too sure that is right. Still looks to me like 'Ultraviolet' on the wall. I'll double check on Friday when I am at 'Porsche Exclusive' in Zuffenhausen!

Hi Eduardo,

there was no Ultraviolett sample yesterday at the Exklusive-Room - it is 100% Maritime - we had it on the table because it´s a famous 964 RS color, as you know.

Another pic from second iphone

Greetings from Germany

OK. Thanks.

*********************************************************

The problem (or the beauty) of 'Maritime Blue' is how much it changes with different light conditions. It's also very difficult to capture its true color with the lenses of a camera! For example, take the case of this beautiful PTS Porsche below. Here is PeteyDaddy's 'Maritime Blue' gt3:

***

And here is PeteyDaddy's 'Maritime Blue' gt3 too:

***

And PeteyDaddy's again:

***

And when it arrived at the dealership:

No, perhaps this is how it looked like when it arrived at the dealer:

Wait, maybe it looked like this:

***

Well, what does it's owner thinks it looks like & thus the photo he chose for his avatar:

***

Ok, you got that straight on 'Maritime Blue' ?

*******************************************************

All of that is not 'clear' enough? Ok, here are some more photos!

An older 'Maritime Blue' 911 in Calgary in the far back:

And here is a 'Maritime Blue' panel against a 'Mexico Blue' gt3:

Personally, I love 'Maritime Blue'. But everyone should be aware of its potential 'mood' changes in different light!

Eduardo

I love that color, would get Maritime for the GT3 without question.

Blue Flame, thanks for posting those photos. Were you looking at Viper Green as well? You had it in one of the photos with the other blues. What was your opinion of that colour?

Interesting that all three photos purport to be Miami Blue....

Miami looks to me from the few samples we have seen to also resemble the BMW Laguna Seca Blue color - which has a lot of green in it, and is a fantastic color IMO (at least on the e46 it was)

Paying full PTS $5500 for a 3 color palette seems very odd to me. Very cool color nonetheless...wish I had access to it for my order, but I never specified PTS so I guess I'm SOL on that option. Would be nice for Porsche to simply add miami, black and yellow to the "special" color choices next to Lava and UV for $3k.

My two choices werde Viper and Maritime - I put these two on the table, but it will be the car of my friend and his choice at the end was Mexico.

My personal view about Miamiblue is: too boring for an RS, it looks like an old 356 color.

I think Miami looks and photographs differently in different lighting conditions and with different digital camera sensors. Clearly maritime does the same thing. Also, I would say it's not a good idea to use a wet paint as a reference especially if comparing it to a dry sample. Maybe I shouldn't have posted that picture. Blue Flame's photos are the best as they also show known colours so one can have some reference basis.

I wonder if the PTS issue is more related to the reported back-up of the exclusive department rather than the paint itself. I think all those cars go through that department. Maybe Eduardo will have some more information after his visit.

A back end shot. From the UK configurator just now. OK it's not an RS but at least it gives you an idea.

And from the thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/7085...nd-you-57.html, here's a photo of Miami courtesy of ISUK posted on PistonHeads.
Miami in the middle with Maritime, Riviera, Voodoo, Mexico and Viper. Taken at the factory.

Funny - my own pic from Zuffenhausen made it from Rennteam over Rennlist to Pistonheads an now back over here...
