If I had the chance for a do-over on the awning, I'd buy the Carefree automatic model. They have no vertical legs to support them, instead they use a scissor mechanism. They also have a wind sensor and close automatically. A lot more $$$$ though.

I hope the images in this thread are intended to illustrate the use of the cylinders and that the regulator is removed when not in use and the protective cap installed. Even though your cylinder is firmly attached to the trailer, stuff happens. A valve knocked off a gas cylinder WILL cause much damage and possibly personal injury.

OK Chris here you go:

Quick disconnect added to hose connection from tank to reel. Another PITA and several trips to the hardware store for bad fittings, and wrong size fittings.

Now it's an easy matter to remove the hose and pressure regulator. Good point to remove it for storage.

The tank is heavy and moves around if not tightly secured. I had to add rubber around the clamps and to keep the trailer from being beat up by the tank added this rubber mat.

Nothing to do with the tank, but added this "cage" to keep the winch from being damaged by heavy cargo. Since my TPD was retrofitted with the winch, there wasn't an easy way to separate the winch from the storage cabinet with a shelf.

Temporary cover for my work bench using sheets of tool box tray liners. Looking for a better solution with one piece of sheet rubber or ???

Default Synthetic Winch Cable

Just a word of caution. I checked with SuperWinch and was told that with my S5000 I cannot use a synthetic cable to replace the metal one. They said that the cable drum could break. Please check with the manufacturer of your winch to make sure is is safe to change to a synthetic cable.

This is a standard Warn Winch which comes with the synthetic rope. The lead must be polished and comes with the winch. It's a model 8000i I believe. Added the wireless remote as well, this is an awesome setup.

My winch is the SuperWinch model S4000 SR. Comes with the synthetic rope.

Now... already thinking of upgrading to the new SuperWinch wireless remote!

Montoya, looking good my friend! Love the little tweaks you're doing. BTW: not sure why you added the quick release lines on your regulator. The regulator should have the type of fitting (to the bottle) that allows you to hold it steady while you unthread the nut. No need to rotate the regulator itself. Or, perhaps I'm not understanding your motivation?

The motivation is to remove the regulator from the hose reel connection. My regulator was permanently connected to the hose going to the reel so that it would dangle dangerously once I removed it from the tank. As you can see in the picture with the tank saftey cover on, I just have a length of hose wrapped up and the regulator is in tool drawer. Maybe your regulator had a nice way to remove the hose already, which would be pretty nice!

Hurrah! Hard to overestimate the damage one of those bottle can do at around 2500 psi. I run my air wand at around 400 psi and when i disconnect the air hose there is a lot of energy.

Since this is a very active trailer thread I'll ask here-

What is the minimum length of trailer needed to haul 2 911's? We used to have a short stacker and kind of regret selling it. I saw some nice Featherlights at the Festival of speed and now we are thinking about going to a long 5th wheel enclosed. I want to go as short as I can but would like to have an extra 4 feet or so at the front for pitcart and gear. Is 38' enough? Do I need a 44 footer? None of the ones I'm looking at on racingjunk list the length of the actual deck, just the overall length, I'm assuming the overhang eats up about 6 feet of length.

if by 911, you mean the longer 996/997, then you need 32' CLEAR INTERIOR FLOOR SPACE. this is to have bumper to bumper really really tight, but u can do it if you are nuts. 34' clr is good. i put two 997 in 36' clear deck, much better. at this length, you need gooseneck/fifth wheel.
