Delivery delays

I've bought mine thru out of CA dealership and I was told that the sales transaction will happen before that.
You may want to check with your dealership.

I am in the same boat. Ordered by GTS in November 2021. My Freeze date was March 2022. Car was completed 7/8/22 and has been “ready for transport” since then. Multiple calls to the dealer and PNCA have not provided any details. TYD shows it is supposed to be on vessel 11/11, but I feel less and less optimistic. TYD just today showed another 7 days of delay once the car has landed in RI. I feel less and less optimistic that I will be able to get it this year. So looking more and more like they will deliver a 2022 model year in CY 2023.

Yeah, the SA that I'm working with said I can pay for the car as soon as it leaves the port for PECLA.

The car qualifies it has it exceeds the 6,000 gross carrying weight requirement and it fits the type of vehicle someone in my profession (realtor) would drive. If I was in construction, I wouldn't reasonably argue that it was a business vehicle. As long as I pay for the car by 12/31/22 I will be able to take 100% bonus depreciation on the car (what I paid for it) against my business income in 2022. When I sell the car, I will pick up income in the amount of the net sales price. I'm also a CPA besides being a realtor so I read things like the link below very carefully.

I'll also get the $7,500 federal tax credit as my $10,000 deposit was non-refundable and I have a signed non-refundable document which I signed in May that specifically states that the deposit is fully non-refundable if I don't complete the transaction so I'm grandfathered in under the old laws.

As a realtor, if the vehicle is used for business purposes, it’s all deductible, right? Worst case, all you need is a mag sign “Acme Realtors. Phone: 123445789. WWW: Myrealtor.com”

"In order for the Porsche Taycan Tax deduction to be allowed, it need to be ordinary and necessary in the field of work you are in."
2022 Porsche Taycan Gross Vehicle Weight(GVWR) is 6,162 lbs. to 6,349 lbs.

Since I have 3 other cars that are personal vehicles, I can easily argue that the Taycan is used 100% for business and take the business depreciation (I believe 2022 is the last year for it too). You don't necessarily need any stickers or vinyl advertising but I may do that anyway. Since it's common for realtors to drive sedans to show homes to clients it'll be a clear and easy argument.

Gross carrying weight is different than the weight of the car, it's the weight of the car with it being fully occupied by passengers. From the article I posted...

I understood from my accountant that theTaycan qualified for accelerated depreciation against my business income but not the 100% Y1 deprecation. I was also informed I needed to choose between the 7500 tax credit or depreciating against business income. Seems accountants differ on these points

I also now see a one week delay: new on vessel date is 11/11 and dealer arrival is 12/02. Current shipping schedule shows vessels leaving Emden on 11/02, 11/08, and 12/14 but believe that is error and actually 11/14 based on downstream port dates. Good luck to all and let’s hope these dates stick.
