My dealer now has the replacement latch (parts), and I am told my BS will be released from the port very soon. As of this upcoming Monday, it will have been at the port for 6 weeks!

Got a couple of questions:
1) It was stated that cars need to get to dealers soon because of finance arrangements in place. What does this mean?
2) I was told that the port will not release cars any cars to dealers unless the cars are sold orders with deposits because of the roof problem. Why???

Most likely because there aren't enough roof retrofit parts... so they are likely prioritizing the sold ones vs. the showroom ones...

Well, now you've got me worried. The car I'm buying is technically not sold. I didn't put down a deposit or sign a contract. The dealer and I are friends and we made the deal verbally. He said the car was scheduled to be put on a truck Tuesday. The car is sitting at the Houston port. If the dealer got notice that the car was going on the truck I assume there is no reason why it shouldn't happen. I guess I have to make a call tomorrow.

My Spyder unexpectedly showed up at my dealer this AM. Will PDI and ready to deliver on Monday. Finally...

So, would guess a lot of them will be released within the next few days.

Glad to hear that they are finally delivering to people. My dealer has informed me that they are getting their first Spyder delivered next week. Mine is somewhere over the Atlantic headed to the Panama Canal. It's expected to be there in a week... and expected to port into San Diego by May 11th. So I expect to get mine the week of May 16th... Approx 3 weeks from now! It'll be quick as work is psycho right now and I have to travel to SoCal and Seattle in between... So I'll be occupied. Here's a nice pic from Monte Carlo! Enjoy.

If anyone wants a car TODAY, I have had the misfortune of being told I am $30,000 plus upside down in my A8 and therefore will be unable to take my Spyder. It has quite a few options including PDK. The color combination car is striking and takes on the classic car character that I was hoping for, and I believe will be truly 1 of a kind. It just needs the wheels done to be perfect. I just hope my loss will benefit someone who really wants the car but does not want to wait for a sale order vehicle. I feel bad for my dealer so please inquire for him directly so he gets the commission for all the time he spent helping me with the order. His name is Mike Peters at Champion Motors. The link below has pictures and all the details. In any event, I wish all of you well and as they say "Happy Motoring"!
Best,
Rob

This shows the color combination concept and how it was developed. Notice that they are using exterior color wheels, although I was going to do black wheels. I think these pictures are great illustrations however.

Robcut- so sorry to hear you can't make the deal happen. Must be very frustrating for you

Your spec is awesome. Great color combo, in the sun Cream White is stunning and the Cocoa interior is very classy. PDK/ Sport Chrono/ PSE...good good good. Nicely done.

I think once a few of these get out in the wild, Spyder sales are going to go through the roof. The car is right in every way and Porsche should have done this years ago.

I'm not familiar with the Spyder interior. Where is the 12v connector located? Are there more than one?
