My car has been sitting at the dock for 2+ weeks; today the dealer relayed that, according to Porsche, I should have the car "by the end of the month".

With apologies to Otis Redding...

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
Watching the ships roll in
And then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah

I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I've had nothing to live for
And look like nothin's gonna come my way

So I'm just gonna sit on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Ooo, I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes

Sittin' here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
Oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time

At the port as far as I know...been there about 6 weeks

PPN Message

Attention: Porsche Parts Managers, Service Managers, Sales Managers

Boxster Spyder Top Latch AA02 Recall Campaign

PCNA has started to ship the Boxster Spyder top latch replacement parts to
your dealership. The two required parts will be shipped via VOR freight. The
vehicle order number will be used as the PO to ensure the correct parts are
mated to the correct vehicle. PCNA will resume shipping of cars held at our
ports along with the coordination of parts shipping to each affected dealer.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter,

Not really...being a tad cynical...I will believe it when I see it. At this point I am beyond disgusted with Porsche and my dealer in the overall handling of the situation...in business as in life I have found communication to be a cornerstone...provide information to people let them determine if it is good or bad, enable them to make decisions...thank you for the vent/rant...frankly at this point my view is f**k Porsche...

I'm guessing one of the upsides in taking Euro Delivery of my Spyder, is that it will be easier for them to install the replacement latch. I'm hoping they don't have to make the entire car idiot proof, I have my day at the Ring scheduled!

Better to have a problem getting a car, than having a problem with a car you own already own! Give an Audi a try if you don't believe me.

My sales guy told me his regional manager was at his dealer today and confirm the fix should be done next week or the week after. Hope he's right i'm running out of patience.

Originally, weren't the first cars to be delivered in February? Now it looks like it will be May.
