Hi All. Great info here! I am looking to purchase a spyder. I've seen several in person, and more on auction sites.

Does anyone have the details/differences on the seat options?

I see options:
024 - Sport Bucket Seats
375 – 2-way electrically-adjustable sport seat, left
376 – 2-way electrically-adjustable sport seat, right
388 - Standard Sport Bucket Seats
P07 - Adaptive Sport Seats 18 way
P77 - Sport Seats in Leather
I've sat in 388, which are manual, with alcantara inserts. How are they different from 024?
I've sat in 18 way adaptive sports seats in my cayenne turbo. I find them great, but probably very heavy for a spyder. Are they the same?
Is P77 just an 'all leather' version of 024 or 388?
Is there a code for for carbon fiber backs?

Thanks in advance for clearing up my confusion.

My car has option 388 and 389. Those are the Carbon Backed Light Weight Bucket Seats.

Edit: My car has light weight buckets however I’m not absolutely sure they came with the car. I need to look at the option codes.

This car is optioned 388 & 389 and has LWB in the photos https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car...er/2010/546783

Here is a screen shot of my build sheet with the codes, it has the Carbon Bucket Seats for reference. The 987 Spyder Carbon Buckets (LWB’s) had a leather bolsters and alcantara inserts as standard on all of them. The only options on the buckets was an embossed crest on the headrest and the natural red leather which was part of the red interior package.

Is there a specific part number for the actual Spyder foldout cupholders? It seems as though you can buy the cupholder unit from Suncoast, but then you have to buy the colored trim piece somewhere (didn't see on Suncoast) and then also the "Spyder" decal (available on Suncoast).

I would love to find one of the cream white cars. I had a Biarritz White 986S and thought was one of the nicest looking cars ever.

I'm starting a fairly serious search for a 987 Spyder with white as my preferred color. (cream first, but I'm considering that 'unfindable')
Looking for as few options as possible with the exception of LWB's. I don't mind no A/C...I live in a very temperate climate and my daily has no A/C (GT350R). Manual trans, PSE would be nice. Everything else is take it or leave it. Not too concerned about miles. If anyone has leads, I'd appreciate them.

Just saw the PDF with the Spyder VIN listings.

VIN 45268 (production date March 2010) still in my hands. I'm 2nd owner from 264 miles and I purchased it back in May of 2010. My Spyder was originally sold through an Atlanta Porsche dealer and traded in on a Dodge Viper of all things through Porsche Woodhouse in Omaha where I bought the car. Still looks and runs like new with under 7900 miles on it. The only changes to the car are that I had the wheels powdered coated gloss black and added PSE. Both were options the car didn't come with.
It's been extremely reliable and trouble free. Couldn't be happy with it and have no intention of selling it.

Can you confirm what paint meter numbers should be for a Spyder? Looking at buying one.

Approximately 4 - 6 uM depending on the surface and if it’s been polished.

So, what would the range be for the aluminum parts (doors, hood, etc.) vs. non?

I’m pretty sure the paint process and resulting thickness is the same although I’m not sure if Porsche uses a different primer for the aluminum.

Marine, can you explain how the full leather differs from the the standard Spyder? Any pics of your interior to see?

CORRECTION, see Rich’s post below! The thread I’m referencing provides the quantity of each color built.

Check for the color of the Spyder you’re considering in this thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...n-summary.html

The build sheets are provided for each of the VIN’s that came to North America. You’ll need to sift through them to find the one your looking at which could take some time if it’s white or black.
