Calling all SpecBoxers...

I have to pull the kill if I leave the car for 5 minutes. Yesterday I ran off the track Unintentionally and failed to get the clutch in. Car was stalled and battery would not restart car despite the fact that I had just been running for 15 minutes.

Some of the Brailles seem to have a very short cycle life after they are about 6 months old. I'd ditch it. The problem with using the cut off every time is you erase any beneficial OBD2 adaptation the ECU has done based on your driving style, amount of WOT, etc. This might make the difference between 1st and 2nd place in a race on a track with long straights like TWS...

I'm sure glad to hear that was unintentional!

Mike, I was going to blame my instructor by claiming that he forgot to tell me to slow down but I thought I try to remain above name calling.
Raptor, in my case it would translate into the difference between last and second last but the point is still valid.

Hah! It was a pretty epic off. I had been looking down at my Chatterbox trying to figure out why it wasn't working. Looked up, and thought "hmmm, this might not end the way we want". Did your video work?

In an attempt to save weight I installed a Braille 2015 battery in my SpecBox. I now spend most of my life with an inadequate charge to start my car. It just doesn't seem like enough battery for the job. Before I throw it out and go with a Oddysey PC925 (which i run in my 911 and never had an issue) I thought I would ask:
Does anyone else run a Braille in their SpecBox and does it give them issues?
Thanks,

I've use d a lot of Odyssey 680's and have never had a problem (although I know some people have). I'm diligent about shutting off the battery disconnect switch and making sure there are no parasitic drains on the battery within the electrical system (like transponders or data systems).

When did the car grow a 3.4? I always assumed you were planning on joining in the SpecBox fun.

My car came with a Braille, it was weak and had to be jumped if it sat for any time, I hooked it up to a deep cycle pulse charger for a few days and has been fine since. Disconnect is thrown when it sits...

Performance Friction 08 Compound available for the SPB
Figured I would post this here since we seem to be discussing everything SPB. We recently received the PF08 compound for the SPB. The 08s have become very popular with the GT3 drivers. They have a nice bite, are great on rotors, and work right down to the backing plates.
The 08 in front would be a great combination with the 06 compound in the rear. For those looking for a little more initial torque, the 06 would fit the bill, without over slowing the car.
Will report back on how the 08s work when I try them on the SPB. I raced on the 06s front and rear last fall at Summit Point. Very nice modulation and release. Did not trigger the ABS except when the track was wet.
If you have any questions, email or send me a PM any time.
Thanks,

OK, no jokes about how Streak is biased towards the rear
