Just to break up the time, here's that irish green and signal yellow epic I was putting together 99% finished. Its fast too, picked up a 1st in Age category at the Epic on weekend.
Going to put a few small GT3 touches. Red steering wheel marker on the black grips. A manual 6 speed gear stick marker disk on the stem and GT3 Small logo from the wheel hub.
Which carbon wheel you recommend. My friend keeps raving about zipp 454
have raced zipps for years. the rims, the carbon are top notch. the hubs on the other hand are horrific. one problem after the next. 4,5 versions in 7 years.
recently , i started riding the Roval CXL32s wide bodies. wow are they great. stable , fast, light, super easy to maintain and lube bearings. can do it without tools in 90 seconds.
love them. have had 2 sets over the last 2 years. wont go back to zipp.

zipp even NSW is not as hot as they used to be. i would run ilghtweight meilensten obermyer if you want to really spiff up your bike. my obyermyer is getting serviced right now. here is the regular meilenstein.

i didn't care for CLX32 as they look blend... then i rode them.. WOW. cheap, stiff, stable and FAST..... i am a convert.
steve is right, the turbo cotton rubber didn't last very long. 500 miles hahaha. but man are they supple and grippy.

I am also looking to build my new bike over the winter and am on the fence on carbon wheels. Was considering NSW or 4.5
ZIpp makes incredible rims, my problem with them is the hubs. over the last 5, 6 years they've modified that hub, the freewheeling mechanism 4 times. they had hubs that were cracking at the flanges. they use bearings that, fo rme, are just too small. the locknut mechanisms weren't holding. first they had these time 1.5mm pinch bolts that were coming loose and they were telling customers "its ok if there is just a smdige of play". they have gone to three different hub designs. and frankly, there is no reason. specialized does it different. they have the technology for the rims which are great. but they outsource the hubs to DT swiss who is one of th ebest for many decades. you can literally pull the freehub off in 5 seoncds with no tools, use a rag to clean off the mechanism, slap some grease on it, and put it back together in 1 minute which eliminates any noises or scratching sounds you get sometimes when grit or grime penetrates the free hub.
ride feel...same or better than zipps. but that's mainly because of the width of the rim and weight.
I tried the clx50s the deeper dish wheels for a bit. got rid of them. nice, but too heavy for training and daily riding.
here is a set by twh way of the clx32s for sale. came off the previous 2017.A SL5 bike when we upgraded to the 2017.B SL6 kits that just came out (mooty photo'd).
they are top notch.
oh and for you all who want to stay fit and train during the bad weather or winter....take a peak at the rollers in that photo 1 from that ebay listing fro that 2017 clx32 set of wheels...
E-Motion Rollers -- inside ride emotion rolers. incredible.
its basically a set of rollers suspended on a frameset with springs so it moves forward or back ever so slightly so it absorbs all the motion that sometimes makes normal rollers hard to do. absolutely, hands down, no questions asked the single #1 thing which has helped me win 15 state championships over the last dozen years. if you cant get out or those 3 months of winter snow weather here in NJ though I do ride through winter always...recovery rides when you don't wan tto risk having to put any real pressure on pedals. when you're tight on time and want to bang out an hour or two of intervals .
go youtube them or google them. very single best investment you can make if you are looking to stay fit and ride inside. I have two sets .that set isn't for sale, but just advising as its a very cool piece of kit.
