Nice work. Mine looked the same. The alcantera headliner glued to the roof hid everything. Do you plan to keep the cross brace? I removed mine.
What's it weigh a few lbs? My first inclination was to keep it for support.... I'll be putting an oem non sunroof headliner in mine vs alcantars. Guess we can make that a game time decision before paint.

3 IIRC. I still have it if you want me to weigh it. I didn't need it since i have the full cage. You might as well keep it if you are doing a factory headliner. They are nice.
Yeah my plan is no full cage. So I think I keep it for support....
The thing.... we were looking at the roof line and shop was saying we could fab a full cage integrated into the roof line. So nearly not visible and no additional metal exposed to what is there today. Including up front. Run is super tight on the a pillar and knee bar behind he dash.

Damn slippery slope
If you are driving on the street and track it would be nice if you could add the full cage like that. I have some friends who did it in their 997's and it is hard to tell it is there other than a slight impairment of view at the A pillar. The best part is it is padded so heaven forbid anything happens on the street without a helmet.
Yes exactly. I think I'll have another look with the fabricator.
The metal guy who did the roof is a magician. Totally custom formed panel and other than the paint sanded you can't feel the dpseam. . And at 1/2 cost of doing a full roof.
Looks great - I am doing same right now. That looks like a Fennlane panel from the UK???
I am going to attempt to do myself, panel got here last week.
Did they bond it in and then metal fill? Or did they spot weld or tig then fill?
Would be curious about the detail...am told about 40lbs (up high is lost) along with better headroom for helmets, cage etc...and of course that slick sunroof delete look...not to many floating around.
The panel was all fit and formed by hand. The seam was fully welded and ground smooth. It's paintable now with primer only no filler needed. The guy who did this does metal fabrication for a certain customs company....
