Installed Cobb Accessport today. Very easy - took 10 minutes. I'm using the 93 octane stage 1 map for an otherwise unmodified car. Haven't driven far yet, but the difference is definitely noticeable. Powerband seems both smoother and more meaty, and car a good bit hungrier for revs. Found myself watching the needle rocket around the dial and going a fair bit faster than normal, though this was probably also due to simple excitement from having remapped the car! Roads were pretty cold and slippy, but the back end did seem to be a bit more mobile under hard acceleration, which is nice.

Overall it's early days and I'll probably do some more flash/unflash comparisons, but at the moment I'd say the Cobb is a solid way to improve a Spyder, for those who don't want to alter that glorious sound by changing the exhaust!

Have you fitted the IPD ? I have the cobb, filters and ipd but not tried it yet as car is sorn till march. Looking at the graphs the mid rev torque dip should be less , would you say this is the case ?

Did you do a before/after dyno?

Love to see the difference as I have no desire to make the car any louder...just faster

I havent dynoed it. My main objective was to make it more enthusiastic chasing the redline but i have yet to drive it due to salt on the roads here.

I didn't dyno it I'm afraid, but I do feel the difference is there. Like I say, next time I've got a bit of time in the car I'll swap the thing on and off and drive down the same roads to give a more detailed comparison. At the moment I think it ticks the 'louder but not faster' box pretty well.

I don't have any other mods on the car, and confess that I've never noticed this famous torque dip that people talk about. To me the car feels like it takes off at 4,000rpm, but this just feels good and revvy to me and not like it is too slow below that. I would say that the Cobb alone just shifts the whole power curve up slightly.

One additional thing that's nice though is that it does seem to have brought the PSE into play a little more. It may be my imagination, but it feels now like the car picks up better with the exhaust open than with it closed. My 987.2 did this (dyno confirmed) when I had it tuned.

Excellent feedback Josh, looking forward to hearing your thoughts after the protune

The IPD combination and Accessport/Protune will definitely make a noticeable difference for you. "ExtendedWarranty" just posted some nice insight on adding this combination.

"Loaded up the Cobb Stage 2 OTS map last week, very nice bump in power

Today I got the IPD Plenum/82mm GT3 TB installed. See it as my big '**** you' to Porsche for putting a 74mm TB on the GT4 when the 991.1S came with the 82mm TB stock.

Impressions: The Cobb Stage 2 OTS tune integrated flawlessly to the IPD Plenum/82mm TB, no codes, no stumble, no knock The stock exhaust sounds 20% louder and there is a very nice bump in power in the mid-range and a smaller bump up too. There is an increased in air induction sound and the throttle response is more lively. The car pulls smoothly to no end without any dips in the midrange anymore (the Fabspeed headers themselves smoothed out 95% of it). Highly recommended modification to complete your bolt ons Don't just settle for that 74mm TB that Porsche purposely gimped the car with"

Following the new tire install I peeled off all the autodip off the wheels and I'm back to silver.. considering going to red next.

In meantime, I have played with yellow DRL vinyl and white tire stickers. Going for the racey look for awhile.

Anyone try replacing the trim around the shifter ****? Annoying that my whole interior has deviated stitching, except that part. Suncoast has a kits in leather and alcantara, wondering if anyone's done either and liked the result?

Looks smart, and tempting in the platinum grey especially since...wait for it... the diamond on my wedding ring slightly scratched my Spyder's shift ****. Anyone have a more first-world problem than that?

Problem solver: buy a left hand drive car
Cheaper than shedding the wedding ring

Found a guy in Mexico who makes replica 962 lemans racer shift *****.. I didn't like the round ones I was finding and this one has a sleek thin look I was looking for. The modification took about ten minutes but required removing the plastic silver trim on the center console. No tools required except for a plastic card to gently help snap the clips back. A few screws tightened with an included wrench and voila!

Feels very good in the hand also.

If anyone is interested in purchasing. Look up eBay seller "MCV911"

Classy, I like it. Do you have a link to where you bought it. I have an idea for a custom shift **** for my Spyder....I think it will look perfect with the modern Pepita.

Please take this in the good spirit with which it is intended, but were you ever lucky enough to eat a toffee humbug?
