Default Lubed trunk lid roller shafts

Closing the trunk was a bit stiff on my Spyder. I put some white grease on the roller shafts ( not the outside ) and it seems to be smoother.

I'd consider going 245 on the fronts but not widening the rear. Autocrossed the Spyder yesterday at the instructor session at the end of the day. The balance was quite good - actually better than the GT4 (which isn't well set up for tight autocrosses). the spyder with stock sizes was very well balanced - with a little understeer but the front end was relatively better planted than the GT4 that I autocrossed earlier in the year. Certainly not as loose as a 2001 S2000 that I had brought along for comparison.

Looks so exotic with the painted scoops.. nice touch. I'm surprised the headers weren't the first of your mods, you're gonna love what happens when you take that step

Thanks buddy!

I held off on the headers because I wasn't sure if they would be too loud. But now I see it'll be fine!

Too bad you have to run a front plate- sure ruins the front end! BTW, did you use just tape or screws to hold the side scoops on??

That being said, I shot you over a PM to discuss a set of those headers at your leisure. I look forward to you joining the Fabspeed community, you have a brilliant car!

If you add manifolds , ipd intake and TB are a must to get the full impact

Not only do they look AWESOME but the increased air flow is quite nice. Will be putting some on my CR for the track in the near future....bummer only the driver-side is functional on the 987.2 haha

Completely agree, just did the IPD Plenum/TB alone on a Spyder on Tuesday. Email I got yesterday included the following.

"After 200 miles of highway driving from your shop and another 150 miles of just driving around (350 miles total) at varying range of RPM on different gears there is very good improvement across the entire RPM range, especially the very low end of the RPM range where its is much needed."

"There is also, a whoosh kinda sound and its subtle and nice."

CAlexio, what are your impressions of the same kit installed on your Spyder with our Sport Headers?

i have a Spyder which is stock at the moment and Im thinking along the lines like other to release the full motor potential. For those that have gone ipd /GT3 , kline , cobb how have you dealt with the cobb mapping. Is it off the shelf from cobb or requiring back to base fine tune ?

You might want to put off on the Cobb purchase.

From IPD

"11. Do I need to make any changes to my ECU/DME after installing the Plenum?

The short answer is NO. The factory ECU/DME will make all the necessary "adaptive changes" to accommodate the additional air flow provided by the IPD Plenum. A mass air system constantly adapts for changes in the inlet tract. Only in very high power turbo systems are the limits of the stock mass air meter exceeded and provisions need to be made, but short of that the plenum will not cause any calibration issues."

COBB is reported as making a significant benefit plus adding headers the mapping appears not so close.
Anyone else comment on the COBB is it off the shelf or bespoke tune ?
