Shifter parts and transmission are two totally different aspects. From what I've heard the transmissions are where the change occurred.
Um... need more evidence than that. I'm not convinced that Porsche would do what you're saying for the GTS alone and not the rest of the manual Carreras. That just doesn't make sense considering what the GTS is.

I don't see why an official document doesn't do it for you. Changes always occur over time and the GTS has the same transmission as the 991.2 except for gearing which has bin lengthened to make use of the broader torque curve. I haven't seen a detailed parts list of the inter workings and I don't believe we will for some time because. Porsche's main supplier of transmissions, ZF Friedrichshafen AG has preparatory and infringement rights to those parts. I'm sure there competition would love to know exactly the very same details you seek.

Yet the document you produced said "gear shifting unit", not transmission. Two very different things.
The only thing I can think of is that they made a running change to the part for ALL the cars with the introduction of the GTS, but didn't change the part number. This does happen...if it's a minor change, they may not change the part number.
But it still has the same shifter as the S for the same year.

I just checked and there are no GTS shifter parts listed under GTS manual transmission on the website you posted above.
OK, punched in my vin number and it seems that the transmission has bin revised. Here is the snap shot. 01 to 02 revision. What I find interesting is that this transmission can be used in a GT3 by the dialog box on the lower left. Interesting.

The two screenshots above are from when you select a 2016 GTS and then navigate to the page with the shifter on it (body, console) and a 2016 Carrera S respectively. There is no GTS part specifically; you select your year, model and trim and then it shows you applicable parts.
It is also the same part number as my 2013 Carrera S.

When selecting 2016 gts there is no selection for transmission. So I don't know where your getting the information. It's inaccurate. I had to look up the parts via vin number.

It's not under transmission. There is no section for transmission, as they do not sell the transmission. I'm not talking about the transmissions, I'm talking about the shifters.
So you just proved that there is an updated shifter. Part 991-424-010-01 is an update to the 991-424-010-00 and I proved to you that the GTS has a different transmission than an S since you need a vin number to access the part. I'm glad we finally got to the bottom of the mystery. EDIT: checked again with vin number and the Transmission is no longer available. I'm going to call the parts department at the dealer and get a good part number as the Sunset website isn't listing the transmission part.
Finally got around to calling the parts manager over at my dealer. Transmission part number for the 7 speed GTS is as follows. G90.100.i20.
If someone with a 7 speed S can follow up and get a transmission part number. We may be able to finally put this to bed.
