Suncoast is great and Sunset Porsche was a little cheaper when I purchased. (Happy customer of both with no affiliation to either)
(Look up the the thread so we don't hijack this one further than I already have)

I believe if you search the forum on the GT4 shifter, you'll find lots of happy owners. I don't personally agree with your shop, and really love the additional weight to the shifter and the lower positioning.

Three Wheelin'
I was a C-hair from getting the PDK, but I'm glad I stayed true to my manual gearbox roots. It's hard to beat that connection you feel with the car when rowing through the gears.

The shifter moves two cables. It is the movement of the cables which moves the shifter forks in the transmission. The shifter itself translates your fore / aft and side / side motion into motion of the cables, which then moves the shift forks accordingly.
So it is the transmission's shift forks itself which determine what gear you're going into. The shifter from the GT4 is literally the same base with a shorter shift shaft on it.
Hope this makes sense.

Highway runs. And it works well. I averaged close to 30 MPG on my ride home from buying the car in North Carolina.
