Manual 991 owners, Are there many of us?

I think the "problem" with the new transmissions, such as PDK, is that they are too good. What I mean is that they are so good at guessing what gear you should be in, there's no reason to hit the paddles manually. In my Ferrari 430, you really had to use the paddles because the software was terrible in auto mode. It made it a very engaging ride.
When I first got my C63 AMG, I loved the car. The engine is brilliant and in sport plus mode, the transmission was very good. After a while, I never used the paddles and I just wasn't enjoying the car as much. The main reason for my 911 order is to get back into a manual car.

Officially as of Tuesday, I am one more MT 911 owner. We took it for a long drive on delivery day, 140 miles, and I must say this transmission is the best I have ever had. Some have written that the gates are difficult, but I didn't have a miss on that first drive. The clutch is also perfect for me, just the right amount of pressure and travel. You see writers often write that the car is "wired to my brain", and this is the case for me. It was no fuss and second nature on my first trip.

Got the manual gearbox in the 997 and the PDK in the 991. I get to enjoy both but prefer the PDK with the roads I typically drive

I loved my mt in my 997 GTS Cab, but ended up selling it after some weird lady sideswiped me on the highway. Have a MT Shelby, a MT 335i vert, and just sold GT4 in favor of incoming B. Spyder. Have strongly considered a 991 Cab, but the gearbox in the GT4 was so sweet, and the 7mt gearbox in the 991 has gotten mixed reviews, so I decided to stick with a Spyder. Someday will likely do a 911 Cab again, assuming they're still available with three pedals. Only have an AT in the 7 series because mt isn't offered. I've driven PDK. It's a technological marvel......that happens to put me to sleep.

I do think 6th is at an angle towards 4th. And 7th is useless.

I just love that there is a bunch of manual transmission driving cardiologists on this thread.
Porsche tells us that they market their cars for the experience. I think the manual transmission is part of that for me. I only bought an automatic once because they don't sell stick shift minivans. If someone can tell me that there is a manual transmission car big enough to hold a family of six I would be eternally grateful. Maybe I can convince VW with the Atlas.
My dad taught me to drive stick at age 12 on a 1974 VW. I rebuilt the motor at age 14 and can't imagine letting someone else shift for me if I can help it.

Manual GTS owner here. Had a PDK in a 991 turbo. Great transmission, just for me took a lot of the engagement and joy out of driving the car. Love the MT!

Only thing I miss is rear wheel steering.
