Today I cleaned up my spare aluminum control arms set (right and left) of my 951, removing the old ball join, so that they are ready to be rebuild with a rebuild kit.
Made it back home from vacation in Orlando with my new wheels!

Car wouldn't start after new fuel filter, pump, cleaned strainer, etc (and it only took a couple of months). Hmm, that's a head scratcher...what gives???
Wait is that gas I smell? Sure enough. The line to the motor--rusty to begin with, may have just had the air and time it needed to complete a more thorough rusting job. Now it's time to replace the fuel lines... Two steps forward and one step back... Hey, I'm making progress!!!
Finally got around to removing the passenger door card and fixing whatever was rattling every time I hit a bump.
Top screw had popped out completely. The other two just below it were loose as well.
FIXED!
Is this the cause for something protruding in the door pocket area? Both side of my car show something bulging out like a screw in the door pocket area. I've seen other 944's with the same issue, just haven't taken the card off yet to investigate.

Nope, this is near the top by the lock.
I didn't see any bulges when taking apart the door - there is a unique black plastic part that helps attach the front of the door pocket. It screws into the door panel, and then the pocket screws into that.
a few months ago I sold my 85.5 (that I had bought new and which had full documentation for every penny spent on it) to a guy from topgear USA for $2500 - The first thing they did with it on camera was to drive down a track with two other cars and no hands on the wheel while the cars ran into each other (my car was the only one that went straight) - in the end a well documented one owner car was turned into scrap. I hope someone here can get the original fuchs wheels and the other original parts that might have survived, but I suspect it's now at the crusher - anyone know what they do with the cars when they are done?

I didn't know I could hate Top Gear USA much more. Thanks.

God, that was your car?... Sorry to hear that. I saw a quick snippet. Really disturbed me.
well, once sold, it belongs to the new owner but I think it was pretty stupid to just smoosh up a car that was in good condition because they could. but I am still curious if anyone knows what happens to the cars - if someone here can get the car, contact me and I can tell you a lot about it.
I know it was mine because of a rather distinctive crack in the windshield and the wear on the bottom of the front spoiler (and because the buyer said who he worked for)
