I love the looks I get the odd time I show up there.

Are you in Newmarket?
That makes sense!

I work there and live in the sticks just East. Wife was brought up in Aurora. Do you ever go to the cars and coffee? It never seems to fit in to my Sunday morning agenda

Drove it down to the keg mansion for a meat treat

Busy couple of days:
  • Installed the front seats (working nice and smooth)
  • Reinstalled all interior carpeting, padding and rear seats
  • Installed the last of my recovered pieces from Robert Budd
  • Put the key in the ignition after a ton of electrical work and everything worked. Headlights, interior lights, radio, hazards. Still need to try starting the car, but want to do so when I can drive it around for a bit.

And most importantly - the wheels have touched the ground for the first time in 8+ months. Going to let the suspension settle a bit and then torque up the sway bar bolts.

Good day

Took it to PCA Shenandoah Region's 20th annual Richmond Porsche Meet this weekend.

Just after getting the once over from the judges... I think I'm in back putting the spare back in... I hate having to pull that thing out.

Finished installing Greg Brown's fuel line kit I was originally a little perplexed as everything was backwards with my set up in the rear of motor. I reached out to Greg who was very helpful. I shot him some photos and he informed me a PO had put regulator and dampener on backwards. Hence why directions made no sense. So I set to reversing the set up back to manufacture's design. Good news is it ran even when it was installed backwards for the 8 years I ran it without issue.

So it's right now. I've included shot of old backwards setup as well. Thanks again Greg Brown!

Finished a tool for front axle dust covers.

Can't recall where i saw this referenced elsewhere, but thanks to whoever wrote it up. Worked much better than the other options I tried earlier.

That's weird, John.

Was there any record of them being changed, they sure look to be original. Wonder if it was this way since birth?

Brian.

Finished putting the !@#!@#$$%!#@ chin spoiler on (10 hours and 10 cut up fingers later) and installed the newly repaired grill. Also drove it to work for the first time in six months!

Performing the first oil change on my '83 S I noticed the alternator tensioner assemble was missing. I replaced it from a donor 4.5 engine we had sitting in the shop.

Love the Panamera 10 spokes on our cars, I think it really modernized the look! Oh and I'm traveling but did order some parts for the S4!

Put it out in the sun for a while before you try to install it.

There are a couple spots, mainly where it goes up along the wheel arch, where you have to tuck a tab around the back of the edge, while simultaneously making a stud go into the hole.

If it's nice and warm, it's noticeably softer.

A pair of smooth jawed pliers helps "persuade" the studs through far enough to start the nuts.

Don't lose any of the hardware. Some of the washers have a side ground down to fit in the inside of the fender right.

An extra pair of hands helps. If they are attached to a brain that's done this before, it's a bonus.
