Does your fix, address the top view of the broken, or cracked end of the pocket. Hope you follow what I'm asking. Can't tell from drawing if it will.

Yes, there is a projecting piece that covers the top edge of original plastic so that all you will see when looking into the pocket is a smooth face that continues 5cm down into the space.

Hard to know if this will happen or not. The cost may be more than people are willing to pay to stop their door pockets from falling off. The cost per print isn't much cheaper than the bumperette inserts and while the development cost will be less as its a known shape vs a 'best compromise for all', material is the final factor that determines cost for 3D printing.

My best guess is that these will cost somewhere between $80-90 a set. When I start getting test prints back I'll have a better idea. I already had to change the design considerably to account for the realities of production, hopefully I won't have to do that again.

One thing I know for sure is that I will get a set because the door pockets around the screw holes look like bullet holes in glass. How did they not notice/care that this was a terrible design and prone to failure?

The amazing thing is the design was the same from the early 911's up to at least '98. They must have known & had a million complaints.

Pretty cool you are making practical parts. I made this 1/4 scale 2 piece rotor a few weeks ago for a brake kit I have been making for years for my VW.

Amazing the time we live in. I'll have to buy a printer. I don't think it would help me too much as the time needed to print 50 sets of something is just not available to me.

Can't buy many parts for under $100, go for it.

I agree...$40-45 for each side beats the cost to replace one or both of the door pockets after they warp and crack from lack of support. I've seen other people make up solutions from scratch that are cheaper but this ready made solutions seems like a winner...can wait to see the prototypes. My door pockets supports are trashed and it looks like some prior owner tried a repair with some metal stock and JB weld that me it worse.
