Hi, with side markers bend the metal clip downwards more, to 30-45degree angle... this clip is the only thing that is holding the light unit to the fender.

Thanks, I'll try that. Seems like it could be a bit more secure to the fender. Oh, here are some pics. I do have some sorting to do though. I test fit the hood today. Looks ok, but not sure if I want to keep this type of hood. It went on ok, but I think I need to loosen it up and fit it a bit. One question though. The hood had a hood crest on it. Looks like the hood crest post was broken off and now is stuck on the hood. See pic below. How can I get this out so I can get a new hood crest?

Also how in the *** do you put the little rubber bumpers on the hood. I think I almost ripped one of them apart trying to get it up into that hole.

Would you recommend getting a whole new fender on the driver side or seeing if it can be repaired at a body shop. This fender will cause problems with the hood and bumper. I already can't get the clip on that side that holds the bumper close to the fender because of the bend. Tried my headlight squirters but water was dripping, think I need to double check my line and connections to the windshield. Well, lots of fun happening. I really am getting to know the 997.1 car.

This bend on the driver side fender is causing some problems with the fender and the hood. Think I'll have to send it out for repair and might as well get it painted.

Bought this hood and seems like it has a crest post broken off. How do I get this post out? Any secrets? Or do I need to buy a new hood

Ok, hood is on (did it by myself and was not that hard), however there is much that needs to be done to get it to align properly.

GT Style or OEM? What do you think. Oh, my car is Midnight Blue Metallic.

The hood crest is held on by 2 special nuts from underneath that screw onto the crest posts. They have a rubber type sealant (like ribbon sealer) on them which is probably why that post is stuck there. Once you remove the nuts or try to, that post will come out with the nut.

If the vent in that hood serves a functional purpose, I'd say use it. If not, then go OEM. There's a guy in Texas selling one in the Marketplace, or was, but shipping probably sucks. Also, using the current GT good would only go with some other aggressive body mods in my opinion so if you're using g a normal OEM front bumper, I'd use the normal hood - if a GT3 / aerokit bumper, then your choice.

Just my opinion of course.

Thanks Petza914. I'll give that a try and see if I can get the post off. I am really leaning towards a stock hood.

It all depends on what concept are you going for... oem, retro or outlaw. That hood looks great for little retro look, oem hoods look so plain... my $0.02

Thanks much. I was able to get the broken post out. Was quite easy. I had to go to Harbor Freight to get a ratcheting screw driver that was long enough to fit into the recess. I used a needle nose pliers and the ratcheting wrench to unscrew the nut. It came right off. Now all I need is a crest.

You looking for gold or silver. I might have a spare of one or the other I can make you a deal on. Let me know and I'll look in the parts cabinet.

I do have one, and it's the better looking of the different ones out there where the horse is more defined, the area around the "PORSCHE" is cut-away, "STUTTGART" is the smaller, more defined font. The "PORSCHE" is reflective silver but looks black in the photo.

Comes with gasket & nuts. $50 shipped via USPS.

Let me know.

Here is an update on the project. Found a nice Midnight Blue Metallic hood over the weekend.

Hood fits perfectly and is the right color.

I just had the driver side fender fixed. My neighbor is a 30 year body man and did a great job on the fender. I bought it in not so good condition but now the bumper and hood fits perfect.

I'll post pixs this weekend with the wheels and front buttoned up. Did all four corners on the Cayenne with new rotors and pads.

Here are some pixs of the fender repair and I managed to put the bumper on the car for some pixs. The car is Midnight Blue Metallic with the cocoa interior. I rolled the car out of the garage for some sun. I am still looking for another headlight (passenger side) and now I found out I don't have the harness for the fog lights and maybe the side lights. I have the harness for the headlights.

Some pixs:

Took the car off the stands for a little time outside the garage.

The driver side fender was expertly repaired by my neighbor Bob, who is a 30 year retired body man. He loves doing this stuff. Wish I had something else for him to fix.

Need to put the other Caliper on. Anyone have a diagram of the Calipers and brake lines?

Cocoa leather stitched interior.

Looking to sell the M5 for a C2S engine and tranny.

So last week I was out of town. In Iowa. I hit the RL to see if any members were in Iowa and got no one. Well I found out that I need a wiring harness loom for the fog lights and side lights. I was able to order from the dealer for abut 100.00. Now that didn't come with any instructions. I waited for over 25 mins at the service area and not one guy acknowledged me. Not good since I have spent more than 5k there. The service tech who finally came out was helpful. However saying just lay it out and you'll see how it goes on probably won't work for me. Does anyone have any pictures of how to lay this harness out and where it should go and what it should connect to? I think maybe the big purple connector connects to the big purple connector on the headlamp harness? Well any help or pictures other than the PET pix would help me see the light (I know I couldn't help it)
