Offically Banned from taking the car out after 7:00pm----RANT !!
The weather was pretty good so I took the car out for a quick run.
Well the roads were dry a few days ago so I took it for a boot.
I thought..... well the kids are asleep so what the heck......
I pull out of the Garage and its music to my ears.
10 mins into the drive my Cell phone starts ringing NON-STOP.
I finally pull over and its the Wife........She was PISSED !!
10 mins of Bitching me out followed by a "If the kids wake up when you come home..yada yada yada....."theres going to be a whole lot of hurt"
The car woke up both kids. To make a long story short.
I got home and left a message with my insurance broker. Pull the street coverage !
She's parked until my kids turn 8 years old.....
Anyone else have to deal with this BS????

Do you have car seats for the turbo?
My suggestion: get them into the car and used to the "grumble" as my son calls it.
Particularly take them when it's getting close to nap time - worse (actually best) case scenario, they get so used to napping in the car that it become the ONLY way they'll nap - "be back in a bit hon, kids need a nap!"
If you want, you can park the car at my place, it won't wake MY kids up!
Good luck Al.

Nope. In the summers, I head out at times for planned runs as early as 5:30-6am. Wife is understanding and is cool about it. Kids do on occasion get woken up but it's not hard to put them back down.
Call your wife...ask for your left nut back.

Yes, train the kids. From the time I was a baby, I slept on our boat in the summer while we were underway. I still get drowsy when I hear old Chrysler Marine straight sixes.

hmmm.... my suggestion is to tell the wife to have a glass of wine and watch her favourite reality show and tell her you'll be back in about 30 minutes. If that doesn't work, tell her to have a second glass and you'll be back in a couple of hours.

I guess layout of the house might have a lot to do with it. Our garage is attached, but the girls' rooms face out to the back yard. My car is pretty damn loud, sport exhaust and all. If I'm leaving for a track day (usually around 6am) I coast it down the driveway and fire it up on the street, being careful to leave the rpms as low as possible (it does stall sometimes like this) but I've never woken the kids up doing so.
But if they're awake, our oldest recognizes the sound from 2 blocks away when I'm coming home and runs to the front window all excited!

call Eshel and get your windows replaced with the newest insulated argon windows...that is what I did right after I got my car...it makes the world of difference. when I come home late I do coast into driveway and garage (downhill).
good luck retrieveing your nuts.
