Hehe, late last night I did my first ever serious laps with my steering and pedals !!! The set up with the desk and secured pedals on a rubberized padded mat is excellent, I can drive almost as if I was sitting in a real car ! I sit pretty straight on an unused dinette chair and it's really good.

I'll have to get some mileage to get the best out of it though...I tried Sebring with a stock RSR and with the pad I was turning high 2.02's - 2.03 and with the steering 2.05 flat....so 2 seconds off for now. I also put some LB times in at Suzuka East and West in B class with the Corvette C4 and with some practice I was able to achieve decent times.

Next step is the monitor !

That's it, I couldn't wait anymore so after dinner I went shopping for a 1080p monitor.....to find that even if I could find one for less than $200 I needed a $50 XBox adaptor to connect it and then there was no speakers and no way to connect some other than getting an amplifier and on and on......Sooooo I shopped for a TV and found a sweet 24" full HD 1080p and a 2 year warranty with a limited time rebate for $279 !!!! Yeahh baby, this is awesome, I watched one of my sons play FM3 with it and it is...WOW !

Congrats Michel... great... because you weren't fast enough before!

I think I'm going to pick up the xbox wheel/pedals soon... been putting it off as part of "watching what I spend" but I think it's time to treat myself! (Who am I trying to convince here?)

Haha, go ahead, don't be shy !

The key to enjoy it is to get a good installation, it was for me at least ! I got the simple portable computer desk and the cushion mat (4 x 8 roll that you can cut) at Wal Mart, respectively for $38.95 and $19.95. You just assemble the desk without the keyboard shelf and swivel rollers and let the frame rest directly on the cushion mat (2 x 3 piece).

I should have a pretty good setup, I play at my desk in my bedroom, so I can put the pedals under the desk (after I move the subwoofer over) and then mount the wheel to the desk... perfect!

I won't be on tomorrow, will sleep late at girlfriend's place.....

I got about 5 hours of hotlapping in different classes with the steering and I'm at a point where I've got more control than with the pad. Even hotlapping the mighty S700 ZR1 I'm very comfortable now. I can catch big slides while being relatively smooth, something I couldn't achieve with the pad. My only concern is that I'm totally beside my shoes with my favorite car, the GT3 RSR. It's the only car I've tried with the steering that I can't drive as well as before !

You gotta put some elbow grease into it boy!! I say we all vote to determine if you should be sanding with "The Clive" or by hand.

1 vote for manual work! ;-)

Well... I ended up starting my custom cold air intake project instead of working on the deck... which means I'm going to have to work on the deck during the week instead.

Hey now... you all would have done the same!

Oh ya, nobody was online this morning!

Hey guys, I will participate in an ongoing Le Mans series starting with a 3.5 hour race at Le Mans July 3rd !

In this series we have to make up our own real life liveries so no more buying liveries on storefronts like I did in our series...I made my own and I'm pretty proud of it considering I'm an old guy !

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Here's their site, very nice bunch of guys !
