Which one? The 1963-1969 Ford GT (the real thing) or the 2005-2006 Ford GT (the fat copy)

 

As a 993 C2S owner, I cheerfully admit that 996's and 997's will blow the doors off of my car, and that I paid more for lesser performance, less creature comforts, safety features, etc., and probably build quality, too. Those Japanese manufacturing techniques are meant to reduce defects, yes?

Let's face it, buying a Porsche of any stripe is not a completely rational decision, is it? No clear thinking individual would lust after a car that eats expensive tires so damn quickly or cost so much to maintain, would they?

We should realize that ALL of us on this board have but varying degrees of the same irrational affliction....

Lusting after a Ford GT or anything else!!....of course you get it. I don't care if it's a Pacer, if it "speaks" to you, than you get it.

original is too much. superformance SPF GT40 is cool but not available in canada. fat copy still has 550 hp and is faster than original GT40

 

maybe we should stick to talking about how 993 arent better built than 996 or 997. ask a porsche mechanic. dont live in dream land

 

mid engine,no traction control, no stability management,brembo brakes,ricardo tranny, carbon fibre seats,carbon fibre diffuser and undertray,chassis by lotus.. 550 hp. 0 to 60 in 3.2 secs and 212 mph...yeah i think so. the car is awesome period. regardless of badge

I wouldn't mind a new GT. Hell of a performance bargain.

 

and i have talked to many including courtney at Eu autowerks who has worked on 2 GT. the car is done right in every way

 

sorry not inspiring, not even close. i would take any model tt over it any day. hell I would take a cayman s over it.
