Obviously any vehicle needs a repair facility; even a bicycle need repairs.

FYI, Tesla is number 1 in the world for owner satisfaction. You don't achieve that with an unreliable vehicle.

1) Tesla
2) Land Rover
3) Mazda
4) Peugeot
5) BMW
meanwhile Land Rover is continually one of the most unreliable brands around…

You have a point there. I guess owner satisfaction does not rest solely or reliability. But to speak that highly of any brand there has to be some compelling reasons.

It'll be my 1st trip in mild temps (forecast is 16-19C while I'm out)
Trip was a success. 1st trip on a 400 series highway since bringing the Beemer home in March.

241 km.
20.4kWh/100km
cruise set between 125 and 133kph
used 61% of the battery or ~ 50kWh of juice.

charged at a rate of 9.3¢ / kWh including delivery charges and taxes.

Total fuel cost: $4.75
Tire cost is going to be another matter... 200 TW tires on a 5000lb vehicle.... geesh

I've done worse.

I drove a 2006 Honda Civic DX 5spd base (no AC, no Power locks) from November 2022 to Mar 2023 as my daily driver while waiting for this BMW i4m50 to come in....

More fun to drive than a Camry. I just came out of a Model Y Performance for two years and 52,000km and it's a blast. Fast, flat cornering, tons of grip...

Honestly the thing I miss the most is just the convenience...charge at home and cottage, easy tech, phone as key, don't even need to press a start / stop button...just walk away and it locks and is off. It's taking some getting used to even have the proximity key and start / stop button LOL

I guess if you are suffering from short pecker syndrome, especially on public roads.

But go to the Tesla site and what do they advertize...."potential savings". I guess they forgot to tell the consumer about the actual selling price of the Tesla and you are worse off when it comes to "savings". LOL

Its so funny that EV owners need to make a case for their purchase sort of like Facebook users needing "validation" all the time. And by the way, the thread topic is EV prices +10-15%. Hell that will make a purchase and savings even worse.

I’m pretty close to ordering a Model 3. Just holding out for another price drop.. 52500$ minus 12k of incentive would be sweet.

I don't get it. You have a short pecker because you like high performance cars or EV owners have short peckers because they like fast cars?

Indeed Porsche EV prices will be going up...others (Tesla and Ford) are lowering prices...

Indeed a strange attempt at insult given the, um, forum LOL

It's actually a huge pet peeve of mine...the idea that someone likes some thing or another because of inadequacy. You'd think a Porsche forum would be the place where celebrating enthusiast values would be understood.

Probably because every person I talk to with these cars tell me how much faster it is (actually quicker, not faster if they had any technical knowledge). So what does that tell you? LOL

I don't know other than it seems to bother you enough that you would extend your generalisation to an enthusiast forum.

I think we're all into cars to some degree for the sensation of speed, no?
