EV prices +10-15%

And it cost how much out the door and EV owners are worried about what it costs to run? Really...LOL. And why only keep it two years?
I am assuming people drive these cars to save the world, so would it not be prudent to save as much energy as possible. So why would anyone need a Performance? When I drove an EV, it sounded like a slot car or a sewing machine. No thanks!

Also, two years is one of the longest stretches I've kept anything other than our 2012 Range Rover Supercharged...how THAT's a car!

I don't think the majority buy EVs to "save the world". I didn't it. It's a better driving car than comparably priced crossovers and free to run. I've enjoyed my time with it but I'd like another Stelvio Q before I can't get that anymore...and we have a Rivian R1S due sometime before never...

Yea there is a noticeable range drop in winter when it’s really really cold but avg temps it’s pretty manageable. My commute is around 35km a day, my wife’s is about the same or lower.
I think the performance aspect is slowly mellowing out for normal cars. The wacky 0-100 times aren’t really needed for most people when you think about it. A normal car in the 7.5-8s range is fine. What worries me are the giant EV pick ups weighing 8000lbs with 0-100 in 5s… that’s lots of kinetic energy..

Ar least you are honest about it. Even though there are those that jumped on the bandwagon thinking they are saving the planet, in most cases people buy them for another reason. The following pretty well sums up one of many cases. I was in the parking lot of my local liquor store and started a chat with a Tesla owner. I was in my non-Porsche daily driver, so he did not know I owned one. In his excitement, off he goes on how much faster his Tesla is than a Porsche. I chuckled and said, you mean quicker (to X speed) but not faster. So now you know why he bought it, at least one of the reasons. The poor guy with his fragile ego was suffering from short pecker syndrome. I do not race to the next red light. After being on the track, driving on the street is hum-drum.
I might buy an EV one day as a daily driver when it makes financial and practical sense. Right now for me and probably not for 10 years till things improve, it doesn't.

Is there one reasonably priced EV that anyone can say has nice styling? That's part of my problem with them. Why do they have to make them look so crappy? What is this, modern car design? Awful IMHO.

Cybertruck is growing on me. It's just mental.
And I like the Rivian R1S...which I why I ordered one.
What's great is that they all look NEW.

I’ve owned cheaper EVs (Fiat 500e and now eGolf) for many years and if you stick with the cheap ones, they do make a TON of financial sense. Use the subsidies to get their price down to the same as their ICE counterpart, drive the crap out of them and save thousands per year in gas and hundreds in maintenance.
When I’ve got some around town errand to do or getting from A to B, it’s almost always the electric car. They’re free to run so if the subsidies get it cheap enough, there’s no reason not to get one. That said. I’m happy driving an eGolf around while my 570S is in the garage.
They make financial sense if youre happy with the lower cost ones.
