Rolex Dealers and Discounts

Daytona is a stunning watch but it's a shame it wears so damn small. Rolex really needs to consider updating the sizing, and this is coming from someone who doesn't like large watches (my 41mm RO is as big as I'll go).

I bought a couple of Datejusts from them as well (his and hers). I was more impressed with their service and pricing than I thought I would be. They were very helpful throughout the purchasing process and were not pushy at all.

Made contact with a guy at Raffi based on an intro from a member on here as I’m ready to buy a Submariner.
He wants me to come in and pay upfront, so they can place an order. This seems strange as the steel submariners are nowhere to be found so if when they get the watch in, I bailed, they could sell it in a heartbeat.
I have have no problem providing a deposit but forking over $11k without being handed a watch is a foreign concept.
Thoughts from those that have purchased nice watches before?

I’ve read a few experiences from canwatchco where people put a full deposit down and were promised a watch within 3 months and it doesn’t come in and Raffi will not refund and only offer store credit. Take that for what it’s worth. I have bought a few Rolexes from Damiani’s and will only ever buy from them and I guarantee you that they will not ask for a full payment as a deposit, in fact it’s a small deposit.

ummm...
how many watches do you guys own? Or is the male equivalent to your wife's shoe collection?
What are you planning to do with them when you die? Is there a market for used watches? I don't expect that a modern swiss watch needs a lot of maintenance to keep ticking... It shouldn't rust, and pretty much should last forever.... Even then, I heard that the replacement movements are cheap and still hold time.
I have a tag heuer that I bought in 1994, wore it everyday pretty much since then... still ticks fine, Doesn't loose or gain time, replace the battery every 2-3 yrs myself, sometimes I have to replace the wrist pin... Crystal is perfect, only flaw is the bezel now turns both ways, but I don't scuba so I guess that's ok. Still waterproof to more than I need for swimming in the lake, free diving down to 30ft.

Petee...I have a DJ from 2006, a Sub from 2007 and a Daytona from 2018. They are all worth more today than what I paid for them new. I wear them all in rotation and plan on giving them to my Son when the time is right. I don't wear or own any other bling, but I really do enjoy my watches.
