Why do you ask?
Wouldn't you, if it happened to you, pay for it?

Maybe, but if he made the quick downshifts, he could have stopped before the fence! a lesson to anyone that has brake failure.. DONT just put in the clutch and coast. he could have killed someone exiting the track gate like that!

WOW, it just goes to show that you need to be on your A game every time you get on the track. He did a great job keeping his head in the game and not panicking, it could have turned out a lot worse.

Not necessarily. That also could have resulted in the tears locking and the car spinning into a wall

no, that never happens with skilled hands. (not just banging the downshifts) its just a timed downshift approach we all do it before every slow turn following a fast straight. something that should be practiced too . with two downshifts, he could have slowed to a very slow speed, very quickly... again, i had this happen to me at about this same terminal speed. (125-130iish) the blip, downshift will not allow for tire lockup, but will slow the car at near the limit of the rear tires grip, which is enough to save many with brake failure. coasting as he did removes all options and is very dangerous

Amazing video; driver did a good job in an ugly situation.
Must have killed his lap time.

Nah, he was running the old short course. You know the old course around the barracks and between the hangars.
