Low is good for safety, and also for performance. Lower center of gravity is always good.

Oh and I use a Sparco Pro ADV on sliders.

Also try to go with the Porsche OEM CUP slider. Not cheap, but works the best and race crash tested many times!

is there a PMNA part #?

does it "plug and play" with the Sparco or do you have to do some fab work on it?

The OEM 996 sliders work just fine with Recaro and OMP seats and yes, they're crash tested too.....

hey guys, hate to do it but life dictates I abandon my SP996 project.

anyone looking for a build/spare tub/parts car?

this car needs a cage, safety equipment, telemetry, JRZ's and a rebuilt (or new) 3.4 and it's ready to go racing. already has toe links, LSD,third rad, Getty wing, Cup car front splitter, two sets OZ wheels, etc.

$10k firm. that allows one to get a completed SP996 done to their specification for under $30k.

I can deliver to the October PCA race at Daytona if anyone is interested.

Are you all happy with your brakes ? I am surprised nobody mentionned anything about switching to the GT3 master brake cylinder, any thoughts on that ? cheap $200 part.

Fwiw I run complete 7Cup brake set up with bias adj.
No booster, no ABS, no lock up-no problem.
Just changed the valving to give more pedal travel and allow more modulation.
They are great. The trick is to not overslow the car now.

whoooaaa 7cup brake nice !

I wish I could get better brake without going that far out, I have never even seen a set of these come for sale yet

I'd be happy to go with gt3 caliper but again I assume I would need to change the brake booster as well, which is a little bit more involving... I was hoping to get away with small mods.

anybody wants to chime on what they have done to their brakes ? aside of the braided lines.

anybody disabled ABS ? mine keeps kicking in, I wonder if it is not on its way out. I wish I could turn it off

per SP996 rules you must use stock rotors and calipers.

I don't see anything about the master cylinder though, that is a good question.
