Hey guys,

4 of us Dallas SP996's are planning on doing NOLA Oct. 4, 5 & 6. Any of you other guys interested? Info below.
Here are our plans for the rest of this year:
PCA Road America Aug. 30th
PBOC NOLA Oct. 4th
PCA Eagle's Canyon Raceway Oct. 26th

PBOC Motorsports Club, based in Florida, is hosting a 3-day Club Race & DE on October 4, 5, & 6, 2013 at NOLA Motorsports Park. Current race licenses from other sanctioning bodies will be accepted and you do not have to be a PBOC member to enter this event. Registration for PBOC members is open at: www.pbocflorida.com. The rules for race classes can also be found on the PBOC website. For non-PBOC members registration is now open at www.clubregistration.net. Please note there are separate events on the registration system for the Club Race and DE. This event is open to all makes of cars and the DE is open to all levels of driving experience. The Driver's Ed side of the event will be operated much like other DE's that have been held at NOLA with many of the local instructors participating. Please feel free to email if you have any questions.

Don't wait... get signed up today!

I would leave at least 1 fan in. I rented my S2000 race car out and had a motor burn up when a Red Flag was thrown and the cooling fan was inop. IMHO working fan is cheap insurance against over heating.

Sorry for the late reply, I was racing at Putnam this weekend. Remove the bolt and turn the ignition key to the run position. Push down on the pin and pull the lock cyl out.

Some minor changes to SP996 have been proposed for 2014. Make sure to send an email to PCA commenting on these changes. They are in my opinion good ones.

so the wheel change would in effect allow the OZ Allegeritas we discussed before?

does the Getty spec wing already have a gurney flap attachment point?

other changes look good.
Yes that is exactly the reason for the wheel weight change. It allows us more options in reasonably priced rims without opening up the possibility of folks going for very expensive ones.

the Gurney flap is a high tech piece of alum angle iron (?) attached with double sided tape.

it doesn't need to be bolted on or have some form of mechanical attachment? I can see double sided tape failing quickly at 140+ mph.

Actually there are major changes effecting both SP996 and letter cars. Allowing replacement of Cylinders pistons and rods with non Porsche parts will make for a much stronger and long lived racing engine.

so anything listed under the "stock" classes also affects SPBOX/SP996?

Yes, very good point. In my opinion, cylinder wall failure is likely the most common failure mode for the 996 engine. If sleeving will help prevent that, I'd be very much in favor.
