The latest PerformanceBox update has track overlays, it has a 10 Hz GPS engine and is a real tool, as opposed to a toy. About the least expensive way to get usable information.

I've used Trackmaster for about 2 years. It's very accurate for the price, but keep in mind it's not meant to be a trackmate.

THis is GET by Athena from Italy - Model MD 60. Operates at 5 Hz sampling each 1/5 of a second from 5 satellites. $400 + $40 for mount. Purpose built. Not a phone.

Bump. Any additional thoughts before I get Trackmaster? Picked up a cradle for the Atrix yesterday. Where do y'all find the best place to mount these things is? Low or high? Left, center, or right? Anywhere OTHER than the windshield (maybe the back glass looking through the car)?

Has anyone had issues with the overlay being in accurate? I seemed to get very accurate lap times but the overlay onto google maps showed me driving off the track.

I used Harry's Lap Timer at a DE last weekend, and I was generally happy with the results. It only records video for every other lap, and I didn't bother to play with all of the calibration features, so some of my data may be a little off, but I thought that it gave me a good general idea of what was going on. For the cost ($15 for hte app + $20 for the windshield mount), I think that it did pretty well, and I'll definitely be using it again at my next DE
