Yes, clearly Petrov didn't deserve the position and didn't yield to a 2x WDC "just because".
Alonso's character ... what an oxymoron.
His race engineer (Aldo) sounded like Dr. Phil over the radio ... "you must now use your massive talent which we know you have" ... with a straight face or Luca holding a gun to the back of his head...either way it was hysterical to hear.

In a show of support for his #1 driver, Luca is shown here doing last minute pre delivery inspection on Alonso's Limited Edition 3x WDC Ferrari 458....

A truly great season! Red Bull deserved the title as they had the best car and excellent drivers. Vettel has real talent and as he matures he will only be better. Real shame for Webber as it may have been Mark's last real chance at the WDC. A special thanks to the guys are that racers to the core and make this sport still fun to watch.
Hamilton and Jense bow out of 2010 on a high which will be great for McLaren.
Great job by Kubica who is always a blast and good on Petrov for unfortunately having the best drive of his career against Alonso.
Lastly - great work by Alonso whose never die attitude kept Ferrari in the hunt and gave all of us a reason to watch these races, if it was not for that, this would have been a boring one horse (bull) racing season.
On to 2011!!

How is it possible for that donkey kart of a Renault, with a rookie driver, to keep the best driver in F1 at bay, lap after lap, without blocking?
I mean, Alonso single handedly transformed Renault into a WDC team. Once he left, they were without the services of the best development driver in F1. They were a ship cast adrift without their beloved #1 driver and team leader.
I know, the Ferrari engine is inferior to the Renault...the Ferrari F duct is inferior to the Renault, Petrov's tires were fresher than Alonso's.
What? no, no and no? How could this be?

Petrov who ain't that great of a drover, did well but Alonso, who only could win the WDC by passing him, fails in a Ferrari to even properly challenge Russian rookie in a Renault!
Talk about not showing for the race, totally opposite performance from Vettel's.
And BTW, to those who blamed Red Bull for being so stupid for NOT using team orders in last race... Care to calculate who would be a WDC had they ordered Vettel to let Webber by...?

What a season! Vettel sheds his "training wheels", Button out performs the naysayers, Webber comes to the brink but can't quite close the deal, and irony of ironies, Alonso is denied by his former team.
I can't wait for next year.
I can't wait for next year.

Congratulations to Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing for their outstanding season and all the thrills of the season. As for Fernando, there's always "Next Year"

Red Bull has Renault engines, i am sure Renault was telling their men to do what they have to and to be honest i think Petrov out drove Alonso

I like the point agdamis made: Alonso really added a lot of interest to the championship by clawing back into it. Although today was not his most classic drive, I think he has put in an excellent season. Yeah, the gesticulating at Petrov was a not very becoming, but I think a lot of that was the frustration of the moment.
