Ahhh, the question is "How do you know he is going to push the KERS at that point of the track?" How much KERS does he have left? With two guys go at it to either pass or not be passed while a third lying in wait to pass them both when they are out of KERS?

All these things bring uncertainty to the game -- kind of like when it rains and you really don't know what or how guys are going to react.

I remember Kimi holding off Giancarlo Fisichella at Spa, but the Force India didn't have the KERS. IIRC, only Ferrari, McLaren and Williams had it. I don't know if the FIA will mandate a team to provide KERS to others at a reasonable price like they do with engines.

With the limited output of the KERS, he who pushes first loses. If I see you pulling up on me because you pressed yours first, I can press mine to hold you off.

Love it! Push to block is accurate.

The problem is most tracks have only one solid spot where the push to pass will make sense. So, that is the exact place where teams will use KERS... and all the cars end up being equal.

If you use it out of place to pass, and you are succesful, chances are you will get re-passed at the most sensible spot to use KERS. So, ya, perhaps more passing, but the end result would be the same, and it will be artifical anyway...

Bring back refueling... Loose the restrictions on number of engines (So teams push instead of nurse a position)... and ensure they have enough fresh tires to actually race a 3 pit strategy... and loose the 2 different compound rule, I don't see much added excitement due to that rule.

Finally, throw all driver helmets into the middle of the pit lane, and have a naive smoking hot pit babe hand out the drivers helmets to random teams. That should mix it up a bit...

He's only going to make it worse the longer he waits.....

It nots going to dissipate...its only going to build

But it was shown to be an advantage at the start of a race...

F1 should go back the pre Max Mosley era, but I don't see that happening.

iii. A point to pass system (per a team Scuderia Ferrari recommendation) will be implemented whereby if a cannot maintain a minimum 0.25 second time gap the lead driver must give a clear point and a lift on the next available straight section that runs for a minium of 800 meters[/I]

Sorry Gents, just a little joke on my part that struck a little too close to reality....

Just trying to imagine the rules as Fernando would have liked them based on his gestures to Petrov after the race.......

What race were you watching? Is that why Lewis was so frustrated stuck behind Kubica. Maybe, we saw a different race. Kinda explains why Martin Whitmarsh also complained about lack of passing.

Fellow F1 Rennlisters,
Since now I have so much time available...(f1 season over!)
I have tabulated final 2010 F1 points tally based on old school(up to 90's i think... 9,6,4,3,2,1 for top six finishers only) points system.
Guess who came out on top and the rest of pretenders result:
1)Vettel - 79 pts
2)Alonso -76 pts
3)Hamilton -73 pts
4)Webber -72 pts
5)Button -59 pts

Just thought somebody wanted to know...

Vettel definitely had a first half of the season to forget, but like anything in life, it's not how you start, it's how you finish and the bottom line is Vettel finished higher than Webber in the last 6 straight races and I don't think there is anyone () who would say he is not deserving.

Aww, what a whiner. All you have to do is go into the shop & fire up one of those Swifts. Think about the rest of us.

Best F1 suggestion I've heard yet.
